My weekly round-up of the Essex Alliance Football League (step 7 and step 8):

On Friday night, in the only Senior Division taking place, CSM London hosted Haringey Borough Under 23s, at Parsloes Park Hub. The home side would continue their excellent unbeaten start to the 2024/25 season, with a good 1-0 win against Haringey Borough Under 23s, in what was also another clean-sheet for Will Brobby’s side. Luke Sinnott-Thomas got the only goal of the game for the league leaders, who make it seven wins from their first eight league matches of this season. Onto Saturday’s action, and Fairlop Rovers and Sporting Hackney played out a 1-1 draw at Fairlop Oak Playing Fields. At Lea Valley Academy, Kulture recorded a 2-2 draw with Chadwell Heath Spartans. For the away side, Billy Gipp and Ryan O’Connell got their goals on the day.

Fourth placed Ongar Town are having a really good season in the Senior Division, after having won promotion to step 7 last season. And Tony West’s side would record another win, when they won 5-1 at home (this game was played at the Robert Clack Sports Centre) to AS Rapid Londra, on Saturday. Ebenezer Fasoranti and Max Galati got braces, and Mason White got the other goal for Ongar. League title challengers Lymore Gardens won 2-0 away to Waltham Forest Borough, at Parsloes Park Hub, and over at Wadham Lodge, the visiting side (Philip United) won 5-2 against Walthamstow Reserves. On the scoresheet for Philip United, was a former international youth player for Hungary (the clinical Tamas Retyi), who scored a hat-trick. Joshua Wisdom and Alec Mudimu got the other goals for the newly promoted side, who make it five league wins from eight.

In the final Senior Division match, Woodford Town Reserves and Frenford Development played out a 4-4 draw, in what sounded like a great game of football over at the home of Woodford Town FC. Isima Iguisi got a hat-trick of goals for Frenford Development, in that match. In the Premier Division East, Dagenham United won 6-0 away to Romford Town Flyers, in what was another good result fro Chris Mascall’s side, who now lead the league table. Halameen Agbaje was among the goals for Dagenham United in that game, as he scored a hat-trick. However, the only other game in this division (between Waltham Abbey A and Greengate District), didn’t go ahead on Saturday.

Onto the Premier Division West, and at Flanders Playing Fields Saint City won 5-1 away to London Cranes, thanks to goals from Liam Adams, Edilson Cruz, and Richard Santos Seixas. In the same division Vallance FC would maintain their unbeaten start to life in the Essex Alliance Football League, with a 1-1 home draw with Unitey. In the first round of the 2024/25 Fenton Cup, there were some high scoring games on Saturday. Away side Inter Newbury would progress to the next round of the competition, with a 6-4 win against London Park City. Joining them in round two, will be Newham Wanderers, who won their first round tie 4-2 against FC Baresi Reserves. Newham Wanderers will face Lymore Gardens in the next round of the Fenton Cup.

Redbridge Community were another side who booked their place in the next round of the Fenton Cup, with them winning their first round tie with Soul Tower Hamlets Reserves 4-2. The first round cup-tie in the same competition, between Sporting Bengal United Reserves and City Of Westminster, was awarded to Sporting Bengal United Reserves. And finally, from the first round of the Fenton Cup, Priory Park Rangers beat Stratford East 3-0, away from home. Tanbir Ahmed (he got two goals on the day) and Dervell Musa, got the goals for Priory Park Rangers.

In the second round of the Fenton Cup, Barkingside Reserves recorded a 6-3 win over Something From Nothing, at Parsloes Park Hub. Among the goals for Barkingside Reserves was Ahmes Ekani, who got two goals. The other Fenton Cup second round tie was between FC Petrocub London and Kit Out London. FC Petrocub London won that game 2-0.
