With a number of postponements on Saturday (because of the rain and windy conditions), there were less games taking place across the Middlesex Football League, than usual. In the Premier Division of the Middlesex League, there were four matches that took place. At Ark Academy, Camden United returned to winning ways, with a 3-1 home win over Indian Gymkhana Club. Goals from Arif Bala (he got two goals), and Nathaniel Coote, helped Camden United pick up all three points. On the 3G pitch at Vale Farm, home side Eagles Land Cricklewood came back from 1-0 down, to get all three points against Stonewall, as they won 4-1 against the east London club. Stonewall’s opening goal of the game came from the inform Jay Lemonius. Eagles Land Cricklewood’s goals came from Ashkan Abbasi, Kristo Beshiku, Shaun Alfred, and Anton Watson-Andrews (you can read my match report from that game here – https://nonleagueandacademyfootballwriter.co.uk/2024/12/07/eagles-land-cricklewood-fc-4-1-stonewall-fc-my-match-report-from-vale-farm-3g-pitch/).
Braces from Kaine Flemy and Gherado Lucchesini, as well as a goal from Mody Gaye Diop, would move Jolof Sports up to second place in the Premier Division table, as they won 5-0 at home to London Tigers, on Saturday. Danny Brissett’s Jolof Sports side are still unbeaten in the league this season, from their first 11 matches. The final game from the Premier Division saw Hilltop Reserves draw 2-2 at home to Shepherds Bush. In the only game that took place in the Division One (East & Central) on Saturday, league leaders LBS Lions made it eight league wins from nine, with a good 5-2 home win over FC Wood Green. A brace of goals from Andrei Pogan, and goals from Antonio Magalhaes-Deccache, Arthur Lutyens, and Izaak Jones Sajovic-Crosland, helped LBS Lions to continue their very good start to this season.
At Enfield College (CONEL), Apollo London beat a fine and inform Harrow United side 3-0, in the third round of The Jim Rogers President’s Division One Cup. In the only game on Saturday that took place in the Division One (South & West), the current league runners-up, Sporting Duet Academy, would win 6-1 away to Ruislip Town. Among the goals again for Sporting Duet Academy, was William Puvanesan, who now has 11 league goals so far this season. Three matches would take place in the Division One (North & West), yesterday afternoon. Harrow Bhoys would lose their first league match of this season, following an excellent run of form, as they lost 4-3 at home to Brook House Reserves, who picked up their fifth league win of this season. Also, Hillside AFC beat FH Whistlers 5-2, in the same division.
Finally, (all of the games in the Russell Grant Division Two were postponed, yesterday) at London Tigers Sports Complex, Wood Lane won 5-3 against Portobello, to continue their unbeaten start to the Division One (North & West) season. A hat-trick of goals from Abdisalam Yusuf, as well as goals from Mohamed-Amin Astan and Abdullahi Abdullahi, helped Wood Lane to their fifth league victory of this season. Next Saturday (14th of December) a great Premier Division fixture awaits, as Camden & Islington United face Jolof Sports, in what is my fixture of the week in the Middlesex League.
