The final Middlesex County Football League action of 2024, took place during the Saturday just gone. In the Premier Division of the Middlesex League, four matches took place (two games were postponed, because of the recent rainfall). At Vale Farm, the visiting side on Saturday (London Tigers) fought back from 3-0 down against the home team, Eagles Land Cricklewood, to get a point from that game, which finished 3-3. For Eagles Land Cricklewood, Ashkan Abbasi (he got two goals) and Oleksandr Martyniuk got their goals. With Rhys Hajro, Bruno Lee-Khan, and Taran Sohu getting the goals for London Tigers, on the day. In a highly entertaining game at Club Des Sports, Hilltop Reserves would draw 4-4 with Camden United. Among the goals for fifth place Camden United was Kairo Theophane, who scored a hat-trick of goals on Saturday.
Jolof Sports would return to winning ways at the weekend, in their east London derby match with Stonewall, at West Ham Memorial Ground. Danny Brissett’s side won that game 4-0, to finish the year in second place in the league table (you can read my in-depth match report from that game here – https://nonleagueandacademyfootballwriter.co.uk/2024/12/21/jolof-sports-fc-4-0-stonewall-fc-my-match-report-from-west-ham-memorial-ground/). Finishing the year at the top of the Premier Division table, is SL Benfica, who recorded another important victory on Saturday. Ricky Nelson’s side won 5-2 away to Shepherds Bush, at Harefield United. Rafael Barbosa Dos Santos (he now has 16 league goals so far this season), Egidio Mahmoud, Helder Luis Manessim, Alizaie Mohammed, and Ben Waters got the league leaders’ goals against Shepherds Bush.
In the Division One (South & West) of the Middlesex League, two high scoring games took place on Saturday. CB Hounslow & Abbots A won 9-0 against SL Benfica B, at Pole Hill Open Spaces, and Hayes Town won 5-1 away to West London Athletic, in the same division. And finally, in a rescheduled third round tie of the Middlesex Intermediate Cup, Hayes & Hillingdon won 4-2 at home to Larkspur Rovers, at Northwood FC. Samuel Baigent, Conor Gleeson, and Connor Goodliffe (he got two goals) got Hayes & Hillingdon’s goals. In my opinion, the game of the next set of Premier Division fixtures (games resume on Saturday the 4th of January), is an important game between Pitshanger Dynamo and Soccer Stars Fennecs, at Brentham Club.
