The Premier Division of the Middlesex County Football League returned this Saturday (January the 4th, 2025), with four Premier Division fixtures going ahead on the day. One of those matches that took place, was at the New River Sports Centre, as Camden United hosted Jolof Sports in a Premier Division contest. Camden United won this match 5-1, courtesy of braces from Arif Bala and Nathaniel Coote, and a goal from Mohamed Abdalla. That was Camden United’s eighth win of the season, from 17 league matches played so far this season, and it was a big win for the north London side, against a very good Jolof Sports side. At Harris Lowe Academy, Hilltop Reserves recorded an impressive 2-0 victory over Kodak (Harrow), to move out of the relegation zone. This was their third league victory of this season.
On what was their first game for a while, because of weather enforced postponements, west London based side Kensington Dragons won 3-2 against Eagles Land Cricklewood. And finally, at the West Ham Memorial Ground Eric Najib’s Stonewall side returned to winning ways, recording their ninth league win of this season as they won 5-1 against London Tigers. Jay Lemonius, Cameron McEwan, Yusuf Isiaq, Callum Alexander, and Kolawole Soyoye got Stonewall’s goals on the day. There were some big results in the games that did take place in the Premier Division on Saturday, as the league table really takes shape as we enter 2025. Next Saturday (January the 11th), there are some interesting games taking place. One such game between two teams at the top of the table sees SL Benfica face Stonewall, which is the match of the weekend in this league, in my opinion. Stonewall won the reverse fixture with SL Benfica earlier on in the season.
