My weekly round-up of the Middlesex County Football League (step 7 to step 9):

In the Middlesex County Football League, there was an almost full schedule of fixtures taking place on Saturday. In the Premier Division of the Middlesex League six matches took place. At Hackney Marshes (on the show pitch), a great team performance from Camden & Islington United, saw the home side beat Shepherds Bush 7-0, to move up to second place in the league table. For Nick Wigmore’s Camden & Islington side, Jonathon Ding, Louie Dixon, Ansumana Njai, Ricardo Nunes Lopes De Matos, and Karl Usher-Williams (Karl got two goals) got their goals. Over at Linford Christie Stadium, Kensington Dragons would draw 4-4 with Camden United. And at the Harrow Weald Recreation Ground, an entertaining game took place between Kodak (Harrow) and Jolof Sports, with that game ending in a 3-3 draw.

At Brentham Club, Pitshanger Dynamo recorded a very important 3-0 home win over Larkspur Rovers. Soccer Stars Fennecs’ fine recent form continued on Saturday, as they won 6-0 against Hilltop Reserves, at Paddington Recreation Ground. With Sofian Hammouda, David Ifeanyi Moses Babajide, and Ilias Tahraoui all getting braces on the day. And in the final Premier Division fixture which took place on Saturday, new Eagles Land Cricklewood manager Naim Berisha picked up his first win in charge of the club, in his first game in charge, as Eagles Land Cricklewood won 2-0 away to Stonewall. Terryl Harding-Nathan, and Kristo Beshiku  (Kristo has now scored 16 goals this season) got the away side’s goals.

In the Division One (East & Central), FC Wood Green lost 4-1 at home to Camden & Islington United Reserves, yesterday. And at Hackney Marshes, the current league leaders of that division, LBS Lions, won 2-0 away to Hackney Wick Reserves. Izaak Jones Sajovic-Crosland got both of LBS Lions’ goals, in that game. Soccer Stars Fennecs Ascenders would draw 2-2 with Apollo London, in an early kick-off at the Paddington Recreation Ground. And the game final game taking place in that division on Saturday, saw FC Marylebone earn a late point as they drew 3-3 away to Stonewall Reserves (at Drapers Field). For Stonewall Reserves, a brace of goals from Khalid Dassaa, and a goal from Mustapha Ghardiane helped the home side to get a point from this match.

In the Division One (South & West), at Pole Hill Open Spaces, CB Hounslow & Abbots A recorded a 4-1 win over Brentham. Ismael Ehui was once again on the scoresheet for the winning team on Saturday, as he got a hat-trick in that game. Ickenham would record a 3-2 away win over Feltham, and in the same division, SL Benfica B won 2-0 at home to Ruislip Town. And league leaders Sporting Duet Academy, would win 2-0 at home (at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub) to West London Athletic.

In the Division One (North & West), the league’s second place side Harrow Bhoys won 3-1 away to Brook House Reserves. A great game took place on the 3G pitch at Vale Farm, as the home side, Eagles Land Cricklewood XI, only narrowly lost 6-5 to Brent United. Goals from Kyle Lewis-Sinclair (he got a hat-trick), and Joshua Okello, helped AFC Hillside to a 4-1 home win Bessingby Park Rangers, in one of two games taking place in this division on Saturday, at London Tigers Sports Complex. The second game taking place at that venue on Saturday, was between Wood Lane, and the leaders of that league, in Bloomsbury. Wood Lane would win this game 3-0, to make it six wins from their first seven league games of this season. They remain a side to watch, during the remainder of this season. The final game from the North & West Division, saw Portobello win 4-3 against Celtic (1995), at London Marathon Playing Fields.

In The Russell Grant Divsion 2 (step 9), the following games took place yesterday. At Cranford Community College FC Sunbury won 6-4 against Southall Athletic. Wiseman West would record a 3-0 win away win over Kensington Dragons Blues, in the same division, with London Saracens drawing 2-2 with Kodak (Harrow) Reserves (Enzo Costa-Jalo and Kye Shelley-McPherson got Kodak’s goals). Townmead were awarded the win for their fixture against Elite Football Club London, in the same division, at the weekend.

In the respective cup competitions involving teams from the Middlesex League on Saturday, results involving those sides are as follows. Step 6 side FC Elmstead (1958) won 3-0 against Premier Division side London Tigers, in the London Senior Trophy. With the scores tied at 2-2 after 90 minutes, between Southern Amateur League side Actonians Association and Indian Gymkhana Club (in the quarter-finals of the Middlesex County FA Intermediate Cup), the Middlesex League side would win 4-3 on penalties. And finally, in a quarter-final tie of this season’s Middlesex County FA Junior Cup, step 9 Middlesex League side Eastcote British Legion, won 1-0 against Hounslow Lions, to progress to the semi-finals of that competition. Next Saturday, my Middlesex League game of the week, is between Soccer Stars Fennecs, and Stonewall, in a Premier Division fixture.
