Teyon Weston, Qusay Mohammed, Glody Kalunda, and Kishawn James, are some of the FC Baresi youngsters who have been impressing for the step 6 side, so far this season, since they won promotion from step 7, last season. Having been given some really good first team opportunities under the FC Baresi senior management team, of Tufail Amjad, Tani Syed, and Marvin Hamilton, these young footballers have all made a positive impression on this real footballing side. The club that has a reserve side at step 8 of the Essex Alliance Football League, and whose senior team won promotion to step 6 (the Thurlow Nunn League First Division South) for this season, provide a real pathway for talented young players (talented young goalkeeper Jahnih Bulbrook is the most recent reserve player to feature for the first team), to progress into the senior team. However, after quite a difficult start in league and cup competitions, FC Baresi have started to find their feet at step 6, with them having won some big games so far this season, against the likes of Cannons Wood, Rayleigh Town, Hutton, and Hoddesdon Town. The club who play their home matches at Ware’s Wodson Park ground, are currently in 12th place in the league table, after 24 league matches played. They’ll be looking to consolidate in the league during the remainder of this season, in this historic season for the club.
Teyon Weston is a versatile young forward, who has impressed with his all-round play for FC Baresi since breaking into the first team earlier on this season, and he has scored a good number of goals. The youngster had previously played for FC Baresi Reserves in the past, and he is a player who has really impressed me in the final third, when I have seen FC Baresi this season. Teyon Weston’s movement off the ball is very good, as is his skill and pace with the ball. He is very direct, and he likes to get into good positions to receive the ball, and some of his finishes in front of goal this season, have been excellent. However, none more so than his chipped finish in a brilliant 7-0 away win over Cannons Wood, a game in which Teyon really starred in. Qusay Mohammed is another highly skilful player, and he can play as a winger on either flank. Qusay has so much technical ability, and he can also play as a CAM. However, the left footed player is really good at going forward with the ball, and he has a real eye for a forward pass. Qusay has made 15 appearances for Baresi, so far this season.
Midfielder Glody Kalunda does some great work in the central areas of the pitch, for FC Baresi, whose first team he has featured for on 21 occasions during the 2024/25 season. Glody is very good at breaking up the play, and at reading the game, and he has put in some very good performances during this season, in big games. He is also good on the ball and skilful with it at his feet, something which so important, to play for FC Baresi, who are a very technically gifted, passing side. Finally, Baresi’s top goalscorer this season, Kishawn James, is enjoying a great season for the club, since joining them from step 7 side Frenford Development, last summer. Kishawn has been ever present for FC Baresi so far this season, scoring a good number of goals. A versatile forward, who has often led the line for Baresi during this season, Kishawn James has superb off the ball movement, as a centre-forward. He likes to make runs off the shoulder of defenders, and he has great pace and close ball control.
Kishawn is also a clinical finisher, who has shown some really good composure in front of goal, in games that I have seen this season. With Kishawn, Glody, Qusay, and Teyon, they are all players who by playing senior football for Baresi at step 6, are only going to get better in their all-round game, as they continue to get more minutes. I’ve watched some of the club’s talented reserves in games this season, and I’m sure that more players will also follow in the footsteps of some of the senior players mentioned in this piece, during the remainder of this season, and during the 2025/26 season.
