My weekly round-up of the Middlesex County Football League (step 7 to step 9):

On Saturday the 8th of February, in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Football League, there were five matches taking place. At the New River Sports Centre, Camden United recorded a hard fought 4-3 win over Hilltop Reserves, courtesy of braces from Kairo Theophane, and Mohamed Abdalla. At West Ham Memorial Ground, Jolof Sports drew 1-1 with Camden & Islington United, as the two title challengers faced each other in east London. Ebrima Cham got Jolof Sports’ goal, with Ryan Pickles getting Camden & Islington’s goal (he scored in the opening five minutes of this game). In west London, at Linford Christie Stadium, Kensington Dragons won 4-1 against Indian Gymkhana Club, and Kodak (Harrow) lost 2-1 against Eagles Land Cricklewood. Among the goals once again for Eagles Land Cricklewood, on Saturday, was Kristo Beshiku, who now has 19 goals for the season.

At London Tigers Sports Complex, the visiting side on Saturday (Stonewall) won 3-1 against London Tigers, with goals from Pablo Ortiz and Cam McEwan (Cam got two goals), helping the east London club to another important victory. At step 8 of the Middlesex League, and in the only game taking place in the Division One East & Central, Hackney Wick Reserves lost 3-0 at home to Westminster & Kensington. SL Benfica B’s home league fixture against AFC Southall, in the Division One South & West, was abandoned after 25 minutes, because of the pitch conditions. In the same division, Sporting Duet Academy won 4-1 at home to CB Hounslow & Abbots A.

In the Division One North & West, two goals from Nathan Mandla, helped Bloomsbury to a 2-0 home win over Portobello. And also in the Division One North & West, Harrow Bhoys won 13-0 at home to Eagles Land Cricklewood XI. In the only match taking place in The Russell Grant Division 2, FC Sunbury would draw 3-3 with Kodak (Harrow) Reserves. Finally, in a big quarter-final tie of the Jim Rogers President’s Division One Cup, Apollo London faced Wood Lane. This game would finish 2-1 to Wood Lane, as they progress into the semi-finals of this competition. Next Saturday, (Saturday the 15th of February), the Middlesex League game that I’m highlighting as my game of the week, is the Premier Division fixture between Stonewall and Pitshanger Dynamo.
