Papa Ndiaye is a really good and experienced footballer, who has previously played the game professionally, in Portugal. Papa is currently a player for high flying Essex Alliance Football League Senior Division (step 7) side Lymore Gardens, and the 31 year old has made 16 competitive appearances for the club so far this season, scoring two goals. Often playing in central-defence so far this season, Papa is a very versatile player, who can also play in midfield, or as a centre-forward. Having played the game professionally in Portugal, for teams such as Trofense and Loures, the Senegalese footballer did play his football in the Liga Portugal 2, for a while.
Last season, and during his time with Middlesex League Premier Division side Jolof Sports, a club that Papa was with for a good while, he scored an impressive six goals from eight games played. And in one particular game that I saw Jolof Sports involved in last season, Papa led the line for them extremely well in a league fixture against Camden United, scoring a really well taken hat-trick of goals. And one of his goals from that game at Market Road, saw him score an outstanding lobbed goal over the goalkeeper, from what must have been between 35 and 40 yards out from goal, on the left-hand side of the pitch. This season, and when I have seen Papa play for Lymore Gardens, his quality on the ball is obvious. He distributes the ball out well from defence, he reads the game well defensively, and he is very good in the air, and he is always looking to get on the end of set-pieces in forward areas, to score goals from.
The very talented Lymore Gardens first team are doing really well so far this season, in the Essex Alliance Football League Senior Division. They are currently in second place in the Senior Division, and they still have a good chance of winning promotion to step 6, for the 2025/26 season. Papa’s experience in the game and real leadership on the pitch will I’m sure, continue to be very important during the remainder of this season for Lymore Gardens, in games that he plays in for them. I wish Papa and Lymore Gardens all the best for the remainder of this season.
