In the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Football League, there were some big results in the context of the league season, last week. Hayes & Hillingdon would win 4-1 away to Pitshanger Dynamo, last Tuesday, to start off the games. At Club Des Sports, the away side on Saturday, Stonewall, won 3-1 against Hilltop Reserves. For Stonewall, Kola Soyoye, Jake Denton, and Kieran Dobbs (it was both Jake and Kieran’s first goals for the club), got their goals. Stonewall have a big league game, next Saturday, when they face Jolof Sports at the London Marathon Community Track. Shepherds Bush won again, with the club who play at Harefield United, winning (2-0) their away league match with Indian Gymkhana Club, at the weekend. And, at West Ham Memorial Ground, Jolof Sports lost 6-0 to Eagles Land Cricklewood, in what was another excellent win for the away side.
Kensington Dragons would draw 0-0 at home to Pitshanger Dynamo, in what was of course the visiting side’s second match of the week. Also in the Premier Division, and goals from Endrit Feka (Endrit scored a hat-trick), Ayoola Adu-Olotin, and Morgan Whittick, would help Kodak (Harrow) to a fine 5-1 home win over Soccer Stars Fennecs. Karl Usher-Williams’ goal was the difference between Camden & Islington United, and the home side, Larkspur Rovers, on the day, as Nick Wigmore’s Camden & Islington side picked up all three points on Saturday. Two goals for Arif Bala (he is now on 15 league goals for this season, for Camden United), would help Camden United return to winning ways, with a good 5-2 away league win over London Tigers. And, what could prove to have been a crucial game in the race for the league title, would see SL Benfica beat Hayes & Hillingdon, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon (you can read my in-depth match report from that game, here: https://nonleagueandacademyfootballwriter.co.uk/2025/03/08/sl-benfica-fc-5-2-hayes-hillingdon-my-match-report-from-spratleys-meadow/
At step 8 of the league, in the Division One East & Central, Apollo London won 9-2 at home to FC Wood Green. Camden & Islington United Reserves lost 3-1 at home to Westminster & Kensington, in the same division, and LBS Lions were awarded the points for their scheduled league fixture with Hackney Wick Reserves. In the Division One South & West, league leaders Sporting Duet Academy won 2-1 away to Brentham, in what could prove to be a big win for them, in their quest for the league title. Also, Hayes Town would draw 2-2 with Harrow United, and the Ickenham versus AFC Southall game (in the same division), would see the same scoreline being recorded. The title race in the Division One North & West is also becoming really interesting. The leaders of that division, Bloomsbury, won 4-3 away to Bessingby Park Rangers, at the weekend. For Bloomsbury, Luke Von Herkomer (Luke scored two goals), Nathan Mandla, and Abdurahman Jemal, got their goals.
At Harris Lowe Academy, Brent United won 4-2 against Brookhouse, and for the first time in the Division One North & West (this season), Wood Lane were beaten, with the title challengers losing 2-1 away to fellow title challengers, FH Whistlers. Two matches took place in The Russell Grant Division 2, on Saturday. Kensington Dragons Blues won 2-1 at home to Kodak (Harrow) Reserves, and FC Sunbury won 3-1 away to Southall Athletic. Finally, congratulations to Division One North & West side Harrow Bhoys, who overcame Ruislip Town (they won 2-0) in the semi-finals of this season’s Jim Rogers President’s Division One Cup, to book their place in May’s final at Uxbridge FC. This has been an excellent season, so far, for Harrow Bhoys. Next Saturday (the 15th) I will be covering a very important Fenton Cup semi-final tie between Sporting Bengal United Reserves and Chadwell Heath Spartans, in the Essex Alliance Football League. However, my highlighted Middlesex League game of the week, is a potential title decider (in the Division One East & Central), as FC Marylebone welcome LBS Lions to the Paddington Recreation Ground, on Saturday.
