A short preview of this Saturday’s The Eddy Mee Division Two Challenge Cup final, between Kodak (Harrow) Reserves, and Eastcote British Legion:

On Saturday afternoon at 1 pm, Kodak (Harrow) Reserves will face Eastcote British Legion, in the final of The Eddy Mee Division Two Challenge Cup, 2024/25 (the final takes place at Honeycroft – Uxbridge FC). Both sides play their football in The Russell Grant Division 2, which is the only division of the Middlesex County Football League in which this competition is open to teams from. Kodak (Harrow) Reserves are currently in fourth place in The Russell Grant Division 2 table, after 12 league matches played. Qays Khan’s side have already faced Eastcote British Legion on two occasions in the league this season, losing one fixture 6-1, and drawing the other game (1-1).

Kodak (Harrow) Reserves’ first game in this season’s Eddy Mee Division Two Challenge Cup, came at the quarter-final stages. They would win 2-0 away to Wiseman West, before then impressively beating Townmead 1-0 at home, in the semi-finals of the competition, to book their place in this season’s final. Eastcote British Legion are so close to winning The Russell Grant Division 2, this season. They currently lead the way in the league table by seven points, and they have only lost one league match all season. After a great season in the Jeff Nardin Division, in 2023/24, Eastcote British Legion’s first ever season in The Russell Grant Division 2 has so far been a great success. They were also only narrowly beaten in the semi-finals of this season’s Middlesex FA Junior Cup.

On their way to the final of The Eddy Mee Division Two Challenge Cup, Eastcote British Legion won 3-0 away to London Saracens in the first round of the competition, back in November. They would then get a bye to the semi-finals stage of the competition, after The London Kings had withdrawn, before then winning on penalties away to FC Sunbury in the semi-finals of the competition, after that game had finished 2-2. I’ve heard some really good things about how Eastcote British Legion play their football, and their results so far this season speak for themselves. This step 9 cup final will be a very good game of football, between two fine sides, and I’m looking forward to reporting on the final on Saturday, before then reporting on the Jeff Nardin & Combination Cup final, between Feltham Town and AFC Heathrow.
