A short preview of this Saturday’s Jeff Nardin & Combination Cup final – between Feltham Town, and AFC Heathrow:

On Saturday, at 5:30 pm, at Uxbridge’s Honeycroft ground, the second of two big Middlesex County Football League cup finals will take place. As Feltham Town face AFC Heathrow, in the 2024/25 season’s Jeff Nardin & Combination Cup final. This has been Feltham Town’s first ever season in the Saturday Combination of the Middlesex League, and they have finished their debut season in that division, in sixth place in the league table, following their promotion from the Jeff Nardin Division.

Feltham Town were awarded the win for their second round tie with Heston, after having already played that game. Then in the quarter-finals, they beat Jeff Nardin Division side Foxes (3-2), before their goalkeeper (Ethan) scored a last minute winner away to Sudbury Court, in the semi-finals of the competition, to win that tie 2-1. Mostafa Adel Zaher’s Feltham Town side have faced fellow Saturday Combination side, AFC Heathrow, on two occasions in the league during this season. The first game was abandoned and voided, and then Feltham Town’s away fixture with AFC Heathrow, would see the home side win 4-2.

AFC Heathrow have one league game still to play in the Saturday Combination, and they are currently one place and one point above Feltham Town, in the league standings. AFC Heathrow are an established club, and on their way to the final of this season’s Jeff Nardin & Combination Cup, they would beat WOW RDM 8-1, in the second round, before drawing their quarter-final tie with Old Isleworthians, 3-3. However, AFC Heathrow would win that game on penalties. And in the semi-finals, AFC Heathrow would win against CB Hounslow & Abbots Reserves on penalties, after that tie had finished 1-1 after 90 minutes.

This cup final on Saturday will be a very interesting game of football, plus it’s a local derby match, as well. And I recently did an interview with Feltham Town’s club chairman Valdemar de Sousa, on my blog ahead of the final. It’s going to be a very interesting day of finals at Uxbridge FC, on Saturday, and I’m really looking forward to covering both games on my blog.
