My weekly round-up of the Middlesex County Football League (step 7 to step 10):

On Monday night, in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Football League, and Kensington Dragons would draw 2-2 with Stonewall, and Larkspur Rovers won 3-0 away to Shepherds Bush. Larkspur Rovers had another game on Tuesday, and they won this as well, winning 3-0 at home to London Tigers. On the same night, at Vale Farm, the Eagles Land Cricklewood versus Hayes & Hillingdon fixture was abandoned at half-time, because of floodlight failure. That match has since been voided.

On Wednesday Pitshanger Dynamo would win 4-3 at home to Indian Gymkhana Club, at Brentham Club. The Shepherds Bush versus Kodak (Harrow) fixture was awarded to Kodak, on the same night, with the Soccer Stars Fennecs versus Jolof Sports fixture being voided. On to Thursday, and Larkspur Rovers’ fine form continued, with a 6-0 home win over Kensington Dragons. The scheduled fixture between Shepherds Bush and Indian Gymkhana Club, was awarded to Indian Gymkhana Club, with Shepherds Bush unable to field. Also, the Shepherds Bush versus Soccer Stars Fennecs fixture (on Friday), was awarded to Soccer Stars Fennecs.

On Saturday afternoon, in the Premier Division (this was the final day of the Premier Division season), and Hayes & Hillingdon ended the season with a 3-2 win over Stonewall, to secure a third place finish in the league. Indian Gymkhana Club would record a hugely important 4-1 home win over Kodak (Harrow), yesterday, to make sure that they’ll be playing in the Premier Division again, next season. A fine season for Jolof Sports ended with a 2-1 away win over Kensington Dragons, as they finished the season in fourth place in the league table.

A brace of goals from Arif Bala helped Camden United to a record point, as they played out a 2-2 draw (away) with Larkspur Rovers. And at Amersham Town FC, many congratulations to Ricky Nelson’s SL Benfica side, who rounded off a brilliant season, by winning the Premier Division on the final day of the 2024/25 season. Benfica started this game in second place to Camden & Islington United. But, two goals from the league’s top goalscorer, Rafael Barbosa Dos Santos, helped them to win that game 2-1. It’s been a brilliant season for both SL Benfica, and Camden & Islington United. SL Benfica will do well at step 6, next season.

The final game that took place in the Premier Division on Saturday, was between Soccer Stars Fennecs and Pitshanger Dynamo, and despite finishing the season in bottom place in the table, Pitshanger finished the season with a 3-0 win. In the Division One East & Central, Westminster & Kensington won 9-4 home to Soccer Stars Fennecs Ascenders, in what sounded like a really good game.

Harrow United would win 2-1 away to AFC Southall, in the Division One South & West, and in the same division, Brentham recorded an important 3-2 win over Ruislip Town. In Division One North & West, Brent United were unable to field a team against Celtic (1995) on Saturday, who were subsequently awarded the points. Brookhouse won 1-0 against Bessingby Park Rangers, and Wood Lane would deservedly clinch the title, with a 3-0 win over Hillside AFC. Many congratulations to all at Wood Lane.

In the Russell Grant Division 2, Eastcote British Legion would draw 2-2 with London Saracens, Townmead won 3-2 at home to Southall Athletic, and Wiseman West won 4-1 at home to Kensington Dragons Blues, with their top scorer, Kevin Boje, getting all four goals for the home side. And in the only Saturday Combination fixture taking place on Saturday, title winners LBS Lions Reserves won 5-2 away to AFC Heathrow, to round off a brilliant season for the club.

Next Saturday (I’ll be attending two Essex Alliance Football League cup finals on that day), my highlighted Middlesex League game of the week is a Division One South & West fixture, between Brentham and SL Benfica B.
