Jakub Matwiejszyn is PFC Victoria London’s current longest serving player, having been with the club since 2016, the year in which they were founded. A defender who was previously with Hanwell Town, Jakub started out with PFC Victoria, whose first team currently play in the Combined Counties Football League Division One (step 6), in the Division 2 (step 9) of the Middlesex County Football League. Making his competitive debut for PFC Victoria in a 3-1 away league win over Ealing Casuals, in October of 2016, Jakub’s first goal for the club came two months later, in an 8-0 league win over Centenary Park.
A defender, who in central-defence has real quality on the ball, following on from the 2016/17 season with PFC, Jakub would go on to help the club progress to where they are today, during the following seasons. However, a player who has bounced back from some bad footballing injuries, Jakub would go on to play a big part in PFC Victoria’s promotion winning season from the Premier Division of the Middlesex League, in 2023/24. During that particular season he made a lot of appearances, playing a key role in the club’s success.
Last season (2024/25), in what was PFC Victoria’s first as a member of the Combined Counties Football League (Division One), Jakub made 29 league appearances during that season. On the left side of defence, Jakub is a fine reader of the game, and he has a tremendous left foot. He is very capable of making really good forward passes from defence, and he is a great crosser of the ball. Jakub is also a solid and tenacious defender, who is capable of scoring goals from inside of the oppositions penalty area, from set-pieces.
I wish Jakub and PFC Victoria all the very best for the 2025/26 season. He is a real club legend.
