A piece on FC Baresi centre-forward Yannick Kamanan – A quality player, who has played the game at a very high level:

Yannick Kamanan is a player who has played the game at a very high level. From France, Yannick had a fantastic playing career, playing for clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Sivasspor, Dijon, and Maccabi Tel Aviv. The centre-forward who is from Saint-Pol-sur-Mer, began his footballing journey with French side Élancourt, before then joining Le Mans Union Club 72, as a youth player. However, a move to London to join Spurs in the summer of 1999, would follow. Yannick started playing for the then Spurs Under 19 side, and he would have been coached by some top academy coaches at the club at the time, such as Pat Holland.

After scoring an impressive number of goals for Spurs’ Under 19 side, Yannick would quickly progress in to the club’s very talented reserve side of the time. He did play three friendly matches for Spurs during the pre-season of 2001/02, stepping up really well to score three goals from those three friendly matches. Later going on to play top level football in a number of leagues, Yannick also played in prestigious competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, and his professional career in football speaks for itself.

Now 43, Yannick has played for current step 6 non-League side FC Baresi in the past, including during their time in the Essex Alliance Football League Senior Division. In one particular game against Frenford Development the forward scored an incredible goal from the halfway line. Vastly experienced, his great quality and ability to still be so good and clinical in the penalty area, will be important for FC Baresi during this season (2025/26), when he does play for them. A tall centre-forward with real quality on the ball and really fine holdup play, Yannick has a great variety of finishes to his game. He is certainly capable of scoring spectacular goals, and he leads the line really well, showing good linkup play in forward areas.

I met Yannick at yesterday’s match between FC Baresi and Rayleigh Town, and he is such a nice guy, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of Yannick for FC Baresi during this season.
