A player who I saw a number of times during his time with the then named Haringey Borough Under 23s side, Sertan Kirman recently signed for FC Baresi, who play their football at step 6 of the non-League system. For Haringey Borough’s Under 23 team (they are now a reserve side), Sertan was a key player for the step 7 team, whenever he played for them. A consistent, talented and highly influential player, the midfield player greatly impressed me whenever I saw him play for Haringey Borough Under 23s, during seasons 2023/24 and 2024/25. The youngster made two competitive appearances for step 6 side AS London during the very start of the new Thurlow Nunn League First Division South season, before joining FC Baresi, who play in the same league.

Sertan is a versatile player, who can play in the CAM position, or deeper in midfield. A highly skilful and reliable player on the ball, who has also got an eye for goal, Sertan made his debut for FC Baresi in a recent 3-2 home defeat to Hutton, a game in which he provided an assist in, and in which he impressed greatly in. Sertan also started for FC Baresi in their last match, a Thurlow Nunn League Challenge Cup tie against Enfield Borough. As a player Sertan is someone who likes to get on the ball and to be creative with it, regardless of which position he is starting games in. From a deeper midfield position, he really controls games, dictating play. However, he is an excellent passer of a football, who is very good at playing forward passes in between the lines.

Sertan Kirman plays the game at a really good intensity. With clever movement and runs off the ball, his skill on the ball and ability to progress it forward on the pitch effectively, will be so important to way in which FC Baresi play. Sertan is a really good footballer who is very press resistant and difficult to get the ball off, and I really think that he will excel for Tufail Amjad’s side throughout this season. FC Baresi’s next match is a league match, at home to Newbury Forest, on Saturday afternoon.
