My weekly round-up of the Middlesex County Football League:

On Saturday afternoon in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Football League, eight matches were taking place. The first game that I’d like to focus on, was between Harrow United and Wood Lane, at Brunel University Sports Complex. Harrow United would pick up consecutive league wins, with a 4-2 victory over Wood Lane. For Harrow United, Raphael Garrett (x3) and Able Kpogho got their goals on Saturday. That hat-trick for Raphael Garrett takes him to seven goals in four league games, so far this season.

Hilltop Reserves recorded an impressive point against Eagles Land Cricklewood yesterday, with that game finishing 1-1 at Harris Lowe Academy. Also, at West Ham Memorial Ground the away team (Camden United) won 4-0 against Jolof Sports, as they maintained their perfect start to the season. For Leon Louis’ side, Endrit Feka, Romario Godfrey-Brown, Coren Noble-Cleary and Bruno Lee-Khan got the goals for Camden United. PFC Victoria London Reserves picked up their first win of the season with a 2-1 away win against Kensington Dragons, and Hayes & Hillingdon returned to winning ways with a 4-2 away win against Kodak (Harrow).

Larkspur Rovers would pick up a good home point against Camden & Islington United (that game finished 3-3) and LBS Lions would make it three league wins out of four, on Saturday. As LBS Lions won 4-2 at home to Indian Gymkhana Club, with Arthur Lutyens (x2) among the goals. Finally, at the London Marathon Community Track, and the visiting side on Saturday (London Fennecs) would win 3-0 against Stonewall. For London Fennecs in this impressive win, Sofian Hammouda, Hocine Krouchi, as well as an own goal from a Stonewall player, got their goals.

Next Saturday all of the other divisions of the Middlesex League start. There are some great fixtures taking place across the league, but my highlighted match of next Saturday (I’m still not sure which game I’ll be attending next Saturday) is a Division One Central fixture between Harrow Bhoys and former Premier Division side London Tigers, at Roger Bannister Sports Centre. That will be a really interesting opening league fixture of the season.
