My weekly round-up of the Middlesex County Football League:

In the Middlesex County Football League on Saturday (yesterday), there were some big wins for teams, at this very early point in the season. In the Premier Division, and Eagles Land Cricklewood continued their excellent start to the season, with a 1-0 win (at home) over LBS Lions. Terryl Harding-Nathan got the match winner at Wembley FC. London Fennecs won 7-2 away to Jolof Sports, in east London, in what was another tremendous win for them, and Kensington Dragons would draw 3-3 with an unbeaten Camden United side. The other Premier Division fixture taking place on Saturday, saw Larkspur Rovers win 2-0 away to Wood Lane. 

In round two of The Alec Smith Premier Division Cup Hayes & Hillingdon won 3-2 away to Indian Gymkhana Club, in west London. Goals from Yusuf Isiaq (x2), Shane McCullough, Matthew Panford and Daniel Whitehouse, resulted in Stonewall winning 5-1 away to Kodak (Harrow), in the second round of the league cup. In the same competition, Sporting Duet Academy ran out narrow 3-2 winners over PFC Victoria London Reserves, and Camden & Islington United won 2-1 away to Harrow United.

In Division One East (step 8), Apollo London started their league season in style, with a 4-0 home win over FC Marylebone, in north London. For Apollo London, Errikos Biniaku (x3) and Renato Todri got their goals. Bloomsbury lost 4-2 at home to Hackney Wick Reserves, in the same division, and Edgware & Kingsbury Reserves would draw 0-0 at home to Camden & Islington United Development. Alex Harris’ Stonewall Reserves side won 4-3 away to FC Wood Green, with Soccer Stars Ascenders starting their season off with an impressive 5-0 home win over LBS Lions Reserves.

In Division One West Ickenham won 2-1 at home to Barnes. In the same division Feltham FC won 2-1 away to Ruislip Town, and Townmead were awarded the win for their game against CB Hounslow & Abbots A. Also in Division One West, Explorers won 5-0 away to Uxbridge Athletic, and at Cranford Community College AFC Southall won 3-2 away to Wiseman West.

In Division One Central Bessingby Park Rangers won 3-1 away to Brentham, at Brentham Club. Harrow Bhoys made it two wins from two, with a 2-1 away win over Celtic (1995), and at London Academy, goals from Kyriacos Xyriacou (x2) and Luca Alvaro Scrivano helped London Athletic to a 3-2 win over Casual Ballerz. Finally, from Division One Central, Ruislip Rangers won 7-2 away to London Tigers, in what was another fine win for the team who last season were known as Eastcote British Legion.

In The Russell Grant Division 2 (step 9) Heston lost 2-1 at home to R F Elite on Saturday afternoon. Hounslow Lions won 3-2 at home to Inv3ntive, and Southall Athletic would draw 0-0 with Old Isleworthians. In The Jeff Nardin & Combination Division (step 10) following a good pre-season, Feltham Town’s league season started with a 4-1 away win over Kodak (Harrow) 3rds. For Feltham Town, Elgi Fejzo, Charlie Sutton (x2) and Woody Scott got their goals. At Springwest Academy, OHM Sports would draw 3-3 with Indian Gymkhana Club Reserves. FH Whistlers Originals won 4-0 away to Old Isleworthians Reserves, and Kensington Dragons Blues won 8-0 away to The Isleworth. Finally, West London Wanderers won 3-2 at home to CB Hounslow & Abbots 3rds. 

Next week, and on Saturday afternoon two Premier Division title contenders Stonewall and Eagles Land Cricklewood face each other at the London Marathon Community Track, in what will be a great contest. That is my highlighted Middlesex County League fixture of next week.
