My preview of the 2025/26 seasons edition of the Anagram Records Trophy:

Ahead of this seasons edition of the Anagram Records Trophy beginning next month (in October), I thought that I’d write a piece/preview on this seasons edition of this well known and prestigious competition. There are three first round ties, all of which are listed below. A very good Chipperfield Corinthians side face familiar opponents in Hinton, with both clubs playing in the same league (the Herts Senior County League Premier Division). Fairlop Rovers, of the Essex Alliance Football League Senior Division, might have had a bit of a difficult start to their league season, but they are a very good side with a good squad of players. They face a Runwell Sports side of the Essex Olympian League, in round one of this competition.

Finally from round one, Essex Olympian League Premier Division side Shenfield Association, take on Lemsford, of the Herts Senior County League Premier Division. In round two there are more very interesting cup ties. The St Margaretsbury v Dagenham United cup tie sees two sides, one of which was playing their football at step 6 last season, with the other at step 8 in 2024/25, face each other in November. Also, Halil Hassan’s Waltham Forest Borough (of the Senior Division of the Essex Alliance Football League) side face Essex Olympian League side Wakering Sports in round two.

One of the draws of the second round, in my opinion, sees a very good CSM London side (this is their first time entering this competition) take on last seasons Anagram Records Trophy finalists – Hertford Heath. That will be a really interesting game of cup football. Both sides are more than capable of going all the way in this competition. Other personal standout ties in round two, include Hayes & Hillingdon v Cuffley, Chipperfield Corinthian or Hinton v Sungate (last seasons winners) and Shenfield Association or Lemsford v Catholic United, who are a very good side.

I’m really looking forward to following this seasons edition of the Anagram Records Trophy. I would like to wish all of the sides who are taking part in this seasons competition all the very best of luck. I’m hoping to attend the CSM London v Hertford Heath second round tie, in November.

Round One: Fairlop Rovers v Runwell Sports, Chipperfield Corinthian v Hinton, Shenfield Association v Lemsford.

Round Two: St Margaretsbury v Dagenham United, Waltham Forest Borough v Wakering Sports, CSM London v Hertford Heath, Hayes & Hillingdon v Cuffley, Chipperfield Corinthian or Hinton v Sungate, Larkspur Rovers v Kensington Dragons, Bishops Stortford Swifts v Fairlop Rovers or Runwell Sports, Shenfield Association or Lemsford v Catholic United.
