In the Middlesex County Football League Premier Division on Saturday of last week, there were five matches taking place. Camden United came from behind to beat Wood Lane 3-1 at the New River Stadium, courtesy of goals from Endrit Feka (x2), and Coren Noble-Cleary. PFC Victoria London Reserves also came from behind to win, last Saturday, as they won 5-4 against Hilltop Reserves, at home. At West Ham Memorial Ground, Jolof Sports and league leaders Eagles Land Cricklewood played out a 2-2 draw, and goals from Louie Dixon and Ansumana Njai helped Camden & Islington United to their fourth league win of the season, with a 2-1 win away to LBS Lions.
At Terence McMillan Stadium, a goal from Matt Dent was the difference on the day between the Premier Division’s only unbeaten side, Sporting Duet Academy, and London Fennecs. There was an empathic 7-1 league win for Apollo London, who continue to start the Division One East season really well, against Stonewall Reserves. With two more goals from Errikos Biniaku in that game, the Apollo London player now has eight league goals from four appearances so far this season. And at Latymer School, FC Wood Green would record a 1-1 draw with Camden & Islington United Development.
In one of two Division One West fixtures taking place last Saturday, Explorers would draw 2-2 with Hayes Town. And there was a good win for Barnes, who beat Wiseman West 6-2, away from home. In the Only Division One Central fixture taking place last week, Casual Ballerz won 8-1 at home to London Athletic. Moving on to The Russell Grant Division 2 (step 9), and FC Sunbury would draw 1-1 with Heston, with Sudbury Court being awarded the win for their game away to Inv3ntive. A brace of goals from Leon Burnett would help league leaders Kodak (Harrow) Reserves to a 2-0 home win over R F Elite.
Also in The Russell Grant Division 2, Old Isleworthians won 5-2 at home to Feltham Reserves, and Southall Athletic would draw 2-2 with Hounslow Lions. In The Jeff Nardin & Combination Division, in west London, FH Whistlers Originals won 4-1 away to CB Hounslow & Abbots 3rds, and goals from Kaleb Joseph and Orion Timpereley (this was his third goal in three games), would help Feltham Town to a 2-0 win over Old Isleworthians Reserves. Also, Holy Rood would draw 1-1 with league leaders Kodak (Harrow) 3rds, and Kensington Dragons Blues won 7-0 against Indian Gymkhana Club Reserves.
Staying with The Jeff Nardin & Combination Division, The Isleworth won 3-1 away to OHM Sports, and West London Wanderers beat AFC Heathrow 3-1. Now to the Middlesex County League sides who were in cup competition (the Middlesex County FA Intermediate Cup) on Saturday of last week. In the second round of the Middlesex County FA Intermediate Cup, CB Hounslow & Abbots won against Winchmore Hill Reserves (on penalties), after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes. In the same competition, Harrow United won 3-1 away to Indian Gymkhana Club, and Feltham won 3-1 at home to London Tigers, with Kensington Dragons beating Ruislip Rangers 4-0, away.
Celtic (1995) won 4-3 at home to Bessingby Park Rangers in the same cup competition, with Ickenham impressively beating inform step 7 side Larkspur Rovers, 1-0. Amongst the goals for Hayes & Hillingdon, in an emphatic 6-1 win over Kodak (Harrow), was striker Liam Walford, who scored a hat-trick. There was an impressive win for Harrow Bhoys, who won 3-1 away to step 7 side CB Hounslow & Abbots, and Brentham won 4-2 against FH Whistlers, to progress into the next round of this competition. And at Brunel University Sports Complex, the visiting side, Brent United, beat Uxbridge Athletic 5-1.
After a 2-2 draw in 90 minutes, Townmead narrowly won on penalties against Soccer Stars Ascenders. In east London, goals from Coltrane Morley-Williams, Noah Ashton, and Sebastian Morally helped inform Stonewall to a 3-1 win over AFC Southall. Finally, Edgware & Kingsbury Reserves lost 5-3 away to Totteridge & Whetstone. This Saturday my highlighted Middlesex County League game of the week is a Premier Division fixture between Sporting Duet Academy and Stonewall.
