It was another Saturday of big results in the Middlesex County Football League. However, first of all, on Tuesday evening at Farm Park, Premier Division side Camden United lost 7-0 away to step 6 side Brook House, in a second round tie of this season’s Middlesex FA Premier Cup. On to Saturday afternoon, and there was a high scoring Camden derby on the show pitch at Hackney Marshes, as Camden & Islington United and Camden United played out a 3-3 draw, to start off the Premier Division action in this weekly round-up.
Also in Premier Division action was Larkspur Rovers and Indian Gymkhana Club, and it was another win for Larkspur Rovers, whose great season continued, with them winning that game 8-0. At Club Des Sports, Eagles Land Cricklewood beat LBS Lions 2-1 away. Whilst goals from Michael Babarinde (he is now on seven goals for the season) and Youcef Mezaoui (x2), saw the league leaders, London Fennecs, beat Jolof Sports 3-0 in east London.
Goals from Matthew Dent and William Puvanesan (x2) would help Sporting Duet Academy to a 3-0 win away win over PFC Victoria London. And at London Tigers Sports Complex, goals from Abdihakim Daahir and Kamaal Nur, helped Wood Lane to a 2-0 home win over Kodak (Harrow).
In Division One East of the Middlesex County League, FC Marylebone won 4-1 away to Bloomsbury, with Apollo London returning to winning ways, as they beat LBS Lions Reserves (6-0) away. At Regents Park, Stonewall Reserves won 5-2 away to Camden & Islington United Development, and Hackney Wick Reserves beat FC Wood Green 8-1. Westminster & Kensington also recorded a win, as they beat Edgware & Kingsbury Reserves 3-2.
In Division One West, AFC Southall won 6-2 at home to Hayes Town, and Explorers won 4-3 against Barnes. Wiseman West also won their game, in the same division, beating Ruislip Town 3-2. In Division One Central Bessingby Park Rangers’ excellent start to the season continues, with them winning 4-1 at home to Casual Ballerz on Saturday. And what a victory there was for FH Whistlers, who won 9-0 against London Athletic, with another title contender in Ruislip Rangers also winning on Saturday (2-0), at home to London Tigers.
In The Russell Grant Division 2, Kodak (Harrow) Reserves continue to lead the way, with a 5-0 away win over Sudbury Court. That was the only fixture taking place on Saturday, as Heston were awarded the win for their game with Feltham Reserves, who were unable to field. In The Jeff Nardin & Combination Division, there were five matches taking place on Saturday. At Cranford Community College AFC Heathrow won 3-1 against OHM Sports. Fairly close to Cranford, in Feltham, Feltham Town would draw 2-2 with CB Hounslow Abbots 3rds, whilst FH Whistlers beat Holy Rood 5-2.
Also in The Jeff Nardin & Combination Division, West London Wanderers won 4-1 away to Indian Gymkhana Club Reserves, and Kensington Dragons Blues won 4-2 against Kodak (Harrow) 3rds. In county cup competition (the Middlesex FA Intermediate County Cup), Premier Division side Harrow United beat CB Hounslow Abbots A 8-3, Feltham lost narrowly (1-2) to SAL side Winchmore Hill, and there was a big upset, as Ickenham beat Hayes & Hillingdon 3-2. In the same competition Harrow Bhoys won 3-2 against Brentham, Brent United beat Townmead 5-0, and Stonewall won 6-0 against Totteridge & Whetstone. For Stonewall, James Baker, Bishal Chand (x2), Yusuf Isiaq, Francis Mendy, and the inform Max Oakton got their goals on the day.
This week, on Saturday afternoon, my highlighted Middlesex County League fixture of the week takes place at London Marathon Community Track, as Stonewall face Camden & Islington United in a quarter-final tie of this seasons The Alec Smith Premier Division Cup.
