Last Tuesday, Middlesex County Football League Premier Division side Eagles Land Cricklewood lost 4-0 at home to SAL side Enfield Old Grammarians, in a quarter-final tie of this season’s Middlesex County FA Premier Cup. On to Saturday now, and in the Premier Division of the Middlesex League there were two matches taking place. At Wembley FC, a goal from Lorik Krosniqi saw Eagles Land Cricklewood win 1-0 against Indian Gymkhana Club. In the other Premier Division fixture taking place on Saturday, there was a lot of goals, as Harrow United won 6-5 at home to Kodak (Harrow).
In Division One East (step 8) of the Middlesex County League there was a fantastic win for Apollo London away from home, as they beat FC Wood Green 12-0 in a local derby match in north London. A brace of goals from Aymen Messaoudi and one goal from Ali Ilias Ousaadi, helped Soccer Stars Ascenders to make it six wins from six in the league, as they won 3-1 at home to Camden & Islington United Development, at Paddington Recreation Ground. And at West Ham Memorial Ground, Stonewall Reserves lost 3-1 at home to Edgware & Kingsbury Reserves.
In Division One West, Barnes would win their home league fixture with AFC Southall, 5-3. And at Brunel University Playing Fields, Feltham recorded a 5-2 away win over Hayes Town. There were three fixtures taking place in Division One Central. Firstly, Ruislip Rangers beat Brentham 3-0 at Brentham Club. At Roger Bannister Sports Centre, Harrow Bhoys won 4-0 against Casual Ballerz, whilst the London Tigers versus Brent United game was abandoned in the 83rd minute, with the home side leading 1-0.
In The Russell Grant Division 2, league leaders Kodak (Harrow) Reserves’ excellent form continued, as they beat FC Sunbury 6-0 on Saturday. R F Elite won 9-0 away to Feltham Reserves in the same division, with Heston beating Inv3ntive 6-2 away, and Old Isleworthians winning 4-0 at home to Southall Athletic. And, second place Hounslow Lions won 6-0 against Sudbury Court.
In The Jeff Nardin & Combination Division, Old Isleworthians Reserves won 2-1 away to Indian Gymkhana Club Reserves, FH Whistlers recorded an impressive 2-1 away win over Kensington Dragons Blues, and AFC Heathrow beat The Isleworth 9-1, away. In cup competitions on Saturday, the following teams from the league were involved, with the results as follows. In round one of The Jeff Nardin & Combination Cup, CB Hounslow & Abbots 3rds beat OHM Sports 5-2, and there were two round two ties in the Jim Rogers President’s Cup. FC Marylebone impressively beat fellow Division One East side Bloomsbury 6-0, and Townmead won on penalties against FH Whistlers, after that game had finished 3-3 in normal time.
In the quarter-finals of The Alec Smith Premier Division Cup, after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes, Camden United reached the semi-finals of the competition, after winning on penalties against Sporting Duet Academy. And in the other quarter-final tie, Stonewall (John-Alex Bernal-Ortiz x2 and James Motley got Stonewall’s goals) won 3-1 at home to Camden & Islington United, in east London. In a third round tie of the Middlesex County FA Intermediate Cup, Kensington Dragons beat Civil Service 2nds 4-1. And in the London Senior Trophy second round, Hilltop Reserves lost 4-0 to the holders of that competition, Tooting Bec, and Wood Lane lost 3-1 at home to Barking Under 23s.
