A short piece on the London teams who are still involved in this season’s FA Sunday Cup, ahead of round three of the competition taking place this weekend:

The third round of the most prestigious Sunday cup competition in the country, the FA Sunday Cup, takes place this Sunday, with ties happening across England. There are a number of London sides still involved in the competition, these include the holders of the competition, the excellent Highgate Albion, a very good East London Ballers side, and AC Milano.

AC Milano are currently top of the Essex Sunday Corinthian Football League Senior Division table. A really fine side, AC Milano face a very well organised and experienced Boundary Estate side in round three, who are very well respected in the Hackney & Leyton Sunday Football League. That match takes place at Parsloes Park Hub, on Sunday afternoon. Legendary Sunday side and the defending holders of the FA Sunday Cup, Highgate Albion, face Hertfordshire based side Strafford Arms, at Barking FC on Sunday. That promises to be another very interesting cup tie, as the Barnet Sunday League team, Highgate Albion, look to retain the cup once again this season.

South London side Lusitanos FC face Hertfordshire side Squirrel Taverners, at Beckenham Town FC, on Sunday. That should be a really interesting contest, as will East London Ballers’ away tie against FC Broxbourne, as another London side faces a side from Hertfordshire, with this tie taking place at London Colney’s ground. East London Ballers have impressed greatly in Sunday football in their relatively short history, and last season’s FA Sunday Cup semi-finalists will be looking to progress into the next round of this competition on Sunday, in what will be another big test for them.
