On Saturday the 6th of December, the following Middlesex County Football League fixtures took place. Starting with the league’s Premier Division, and there was a good win for Wood Lane, who despite going two goals down at home to Harrow United, they would end up winning that game 4-2. For Wood Lane, Ramy Bouhiaoui, Rayan Haddi, Jay Hines and Kamal Mohamed, got their goals at London Tigers Sports Complex. Also in the Premier Division, at Club Des Sports, LBS Lions and Camden United played out a 1-1 draw. And at West Ham Memorial Ground, Indian Gymkhana Club got their first point of the season, after their game away to Jolof Sports finished 2-2.
At Harris Lowe Academy, there was a good win for Sporting Duet Academy, who beat Hilltop Reserves 4-0. And there was a very good 1-0 win for Stonewall (Martin Andvik got the winning goal from that game) as they ended Camden & Islington United’s excellent unbeaten run in the Premier Division. In Division One East, Apollo London’s unbeaten league run continued, as they beat Hackney Wick Reserves 2-0, away. And the only other fixture taking place in that step 8 division last Saturday, saw LBS Lions Reserves and Camden & Islington United Development play out a 1-1 draw.
In Division One West of the Middlesex County League, AFC Southall won 5-1 at home to Wiseman West, with Barnes also recording a big home win, in the only other fixture taking place in that division, as they beat Uxbridge Athletic 4-0. In Division One Central, Bessingby Park Rangers continue to look like real title contenders so far this season, as they won 4-1 away to Brent United in west London. Goals from Sergio Carro (he currently has four goals from four league games for Brentham this season) and Ankit Limbu, helped Brentham on Saturday as they played out a 2-2 draw with London Tigers. At Bannister Sports Centre, Celtic (1995) won 2-1 away to Casual Ballerz.
In the only game taking place in The Russell Grant Division Two, RF Elite won 5-0 at home to Southall Athletic. There was also only one game taking place in The Jeff Nardin & Combination Division, as that game between Indian Gymkhana Club Reserves and OHM Sports finished 2-1 to the away side, OHM Sports. In round two of this season’s Anagram Records Trophy, two Middlesex League Premier Division sides met in west London, as Kensington Dragons beat Larkspur Rovers away, 2-1.
In the quarter-finals of this season’s The Alec Smith Premier Division Cup, London Fennecs won 2-1 at home to Hayes & Hillingdon, courtesy of goals from Michael Babarinde and Mouadh Kermani. In a second round tie of The Jim Rogers President’s Division One Cup, there was an impressive 9-2 home win for Ickenham, against Westminster & Kensington. And finally from last Saturday, two very strong sides from The Jeff Nardin & Combination Division, in FH Whistlers Originals and Kodak (Harrow) 3rds played out a well contested quarter-final tie of this season’s Jeff Nardin & Combination Cup. Kodak (Harrow) 3rds would win that tie 2-1.
My highlighted Middlesex County Football League fixture of this week is a Premier Division fixture between Stonewall and Wood Lane, which I think will be a very good game of football.
