My review of the 2025/26 Middlesex County Football League season (The Russell Grant Division 2) so far:

The 2025/26 Russell Grant Division 2 season (step 9 of the Middlesex County Football League), has been an interesting one so far. The following piece is a bit of a review of the season so far, in this division of the Middlesex County Football League, with there now being no more league games until the new year, in this division.

Top of the league table is Kodak (Harrow) Reserves, going in to 2026. They lead at the top of the Russell Grant Division 2 standings, by 11 league points to second place Hounslow Lions, after nine league matches played. Kodak (Harrow) Reserves had a good season in 2024/25. They also reached the final of The Eddy Mee Division Two Challenge Cup, which they only narrowly lost to Eastcote British Legion. Having finished last season three points off the top three, this season they have so far accumulated 27 points from their opening nine league matches.

Kodak Reserves are also still in both cup competitions which they entered at the beginning of the season. A good and talented side who play their football well as a team, Kodak Reserves are undoubtedly the favourites for the league title, going in to 2026. Second place side Hounslow Lions are enjoying a good season themselves, following their promotion to this division last summer, from the old Saturday Combination. Hounslow Lions have 16 points from nine league matches played. And third place side, Old Isleworthians, although they did have a points deduction earlier in the season, they are still doing well in the league table, and they  have shown their quality in this division after earning promotion last season.

In fourth and fifth place respectively, are FC Sunbury (they have 11 points from their opening seven league matches played) and Feltham Reserves, who so far have nine points from eight league matches played. Southall Athletic, a well established side now, in the Middlesex League, are tied on points with Feltham Reserves in the table, although they have played one game more than them. Three points behind Southall Athletic, is a well known name in the Middlesex League, in Sudbury Court, who have six points from nine matches played.

RF Elite (they are in eighth place in the league standings, after nine matches played) are currently in their first season in the Middlesex League. They are a talented side who although they have had a points deduction, they have had some big wins in league and cup competitions, so far. RF Elite face Sudbury Court in a big quarter-final tie of The Eddy Mee Division Two Challenge Cup, next month. I hope to attend that game and do a match report on my blog.

Inv3ntive and Heston (they were promoted from The Jeff Nardin Division at the end of last season) are currently in the bottom two places of this ten team division. It will be an interesting second half of the season, in 2026. Although Kodak (Harrow) Reserves look like they are on course to win the title, there is still plenty to play for in this division of the Middlesex League, and I wish all of the teams involved, all the very best of luck.

The three top goalscorers in The Russell Grant Division 2, at this point of the season:

Mohammad Sohail Ahmadzai (Heston), Bradley-Ross Rance (Old Isleworthians), Cain Wright (RF Elite):  All three players are on nine league goals for the season so far.
