My review of the 2025/26 Middlesex County Football League Division One East season, so far:

Across the three Divisions of the Middlesex County Football League Division One, so far this season (2025/26), there are some really interesting title races taking place. The following piece is a summary/review of how the Division One East of the Middlesex County League is going so far, during the current season.

The Division One East, previously known as the Division One & Central, is once again (2025/26) proving to be very interesting. Apollo London lead at the top of the Division One East table, with an almost identical record to second place side Soccer Stars Ascenders, who they lead on goal difference. Apollo London and Soccer Stars Ascenders are tied on 29 points after nine league matches played.

I have seen Apollo London on a couple of occasions now, and they are a very good team. They also have a lot of experience in their squad, and they are also a really good footballing side, as well. Soccer Stars Ascenders are another very talented side, who are a very youthful side, as well. Like Apollo London, Soccer Stars Ascenders are unbeaten in the league so far this season. It’s still early days, and there are other sides who I’ve mentioned below, who could very well challenge both sides for the title, but at this stage of the season, it’s looking like a fascinating title race.

Alex Harris’s Stonewall Reserves side have made an impressive start to the Division One East season, after nine league matches played. They are currently in third place in the table, with six wins already. And they are another good side who could certainly challenge Apollo London and Soccer Stars Ascenders, for the league title. A talented FC Marylebone (they are still in the divisional cup) team are one place and six points below Stonewall Reserves, and then in fifth place in the league table is Edgware & Kingsbury Reserves, who are in their first season in the Middlesex League.

North London side Bloomsbury, who moved across to this division of the Middlesex League during the summer, are in sixth place in the league table, after nine matches played. I still haven’t seen Bloomsbury since they joined the Middlesex League, but I hope to see them during the remainder of this season. Westminster & Kensington are just below Bloomsbury, but they are on five league games played. If they go on a good run, then they’ll be right up there near the top of the table, with all of their games in hand.

Luca Malagigi’s Camden & Islington United Development side are in eight place in the table, and they are a very youthful side, who play some good football, and who provide a real pathway into the first team, in the Premier Division. The Development side are also still in this season’s London County FA Junior Cup. LBS Lions Reserves are third from bottom of the division, with Rory Adler’s promising Hackney Wick Reserves side one place below them, and one place above FC Wood Green in the table.

The Division One East is a really interesting division of the Middlesex League, which has promoted some great sides in recent years, such as Clapton Community, NW London, and more recently current Premier Division side and league leaders, London Fennecs.

The three top goalscorers in Division One East, at this point of the season:

  • Errikos Biniaku (Apollo London) – 16
  • Jevonte Deabreau (FC Marylebone) – 12
  • Aymen Messaoudi (Soccer Stars Ascenders) – 10
