A post-match interview with PFC Victoria London player Carlos Angulo, following PFC Victoria’s loss on penalties to Bedfont, in the semi-finals of the Middlesex FA Premier Cup:

Since joining step 6 Combined Counties Football League Division One side PFC Victoria London, last season (2024/25), Carlos Angulo (19) has been consistently very good at right-back, for the club. Following PFC Victoria’s heartbreaking exit from the Middlesex FA Premier Cup (semi-finals) on penalties against Bedfont on Wednesday night, after the game had finished 4-4, I did a short post-match interview with Carlos.

Could you talk me through a bit about your background in football, prior to joining PFC Victoria London?

Carlos: I’ve been playing grassroots football for a while, and I used to be at Elite London Academy, before moving on to Kingstonian Under 18s. We won a lot of trophies at Kingstonian as a team. And then I moved on to PFC Victoria last season, where I’ve been ever since.

What are some of your thoughts on PFC Victoria London, since joining the club last season?

Carlos: I’ve been welcomed by the whole team since I joined the club last December. The coaches have been very nice to me, and I got going straight away with the team. We’re doing very well as a team at the moment, and we’re battling for promotion at the moment, and I think that I can now definitely call the club home.

Who would you say, for their technical ability, has been the best player that you have shared a pitch with, so far?

Carlos: I’ve played with the likes of Junior Nkeng, who’s doing well at AFC Wimbledon, Filip Chalupniczak (PFC Victoria’s goalkeeper), Matteo Dashi (Crystal Palace), but there’s a lot of very good players that I’ve played with, and too many to name.

What did you think of tonight’s cup semi-final tie with Bedfont?

Carlos: To be fair, I think that it was unfortunate. We started the game really well, but then the pace of the game changed a little bit, and we made some silly mistakes, which ended up in us conceding silly goals. But, all in all it was an unfortunate loss, and once you get to penalties it’s 50/50.

What are some of your hopes and aims for the rest of this season, with PFC Victoria London?

Carlos: Both me and the team are pushing for promotion. And as difficult as it will be, we intend to by the end of this season have won promotion to step 5.
