Diego Munoz is a player for PFC Victoria London, who play in the Combined Counties Football League Division One. Diego (18) is a very talented young player, who has been consistently very good for PFC Victoria this season, a season in which they are currently competing well in the play-offs, in. After PFC Victoria’s 5-2 win (Diego scored a hat-trick during this game) over Spelthorne Sports on Wednesday, I did a short post-match interview with Diego.
Could you talk me through a bit about your background in football, prior to joining PFC Victoria London during this season?
Diego: Before I joined PFC Victoria, I was at Tooting & Mitcham United. I played for their Under 18 side, and I then moved on to their Under 23 side. I did well there, and I scored my first hat-trick for them against Molesey Under 23s. Before Tooting & Mitcham, I was at Barnet Under 18s, where I thought I did well, and I trained once or twice with the first team there, as well.
What have you made of this season, so far, since joining PFC Victoria London?
Diego: It’s been really good. It’s my first proper non-League team in senior football, and I’ve been enjoying it. I’ve scored quite a lot of goals and I’m creating chances on the pitch, which is good.
What did you think of the game against Spelthorne Sports, tonight?
Diego: The game was really good, right from the start. We scored early, and everyone was on it. We popped the ball around well, and we defended well. So overall it was a brilliant night.
What are some of your hopes for the remainder of this season with PFC Victoria London?
Diego: Hopefully can secure a play-off spot, and then go on to win the play-offs. And I think that we’d 100% deserve it, to be honest.
Who would you say has been the best player, for their overall ability, that you have shared a pitch with, so far?
Diego: It would have to be Oliver Ewing, who I played with at Scunthorpe United, during my time there in pre-season.
