In the Middlesex County Football League (Sundays), from last Sunday, I’ll be going through all of the results across the league’s divisions. In the Premier Division of the league, there was only the one fixture taking place, yesterday. As Whitton Wanderers beat Grenfell Athletic away, 3-1. In Division One of the league, title contenders Hennessys picked up an important three points, in their 4-2 away win over Hounslow Wolves XI. In the same division on Sunday, Ickenham Hams beat FC Phoenix 5-1.
In Division Two, top of the table Brentford Town won 5-2 at home to Chiswick Athletic, Newton City beat Princes Park United 3-1, and Larkspur Rovers Sundays were awarded the win ahead of their game with Devon. On to Division Three now, and Bedfont Sunday Reserves recorded their third league win of this season, as they beat Club Assyria Reserves 4-2, Southall Athletic and Harefield Legion played out a 3-3 draw, and TW Rangers won 2-1 against Sandgate. The final Division Three fixture saw Wishing Well Wanderers win 2-1 against CB Hounslow & Abbots 3rds.
In Division Four North, Grove Park Rangers II won 2-1 away to CB Hounslow & Abbots 4ths, fourth place side Hillingdon Stags recorded a point (the game finished 1-1) against Kodak (Harrow) Sunday. London Samurai Rovers (Sunday) won 4-1 at home to Jugg Boyz, in the same division, and Ryefield beat Maida Villa 3-1 (away) at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub. In Division Four South, at Harvey Park, Eutectic beat Hounslow Wolves 3rds 3-2, Moor Mead won 3-1 away to Hearts Of Teddlothian, and Whitton Wanderers Reserves won 7-0 against Seshfield Sunday.
On to cup competitions featuring teams from the league now. In a semi-final tie of the Middlesex FA Sunday Premier Cup, and after a 1-1 draw for Club Assyria (Ali Alaliaoui got their goal in regulation time) with Barnet Sunday League side North London Athletic, the Middlesex League Premier Division side progressed into the final with a win on penalties. In the Middlesex FA Sunday Junior Cup semi-finals, Middlesex League side West Drayton Reserves won 4-2 on penalties against Roisin Rovers, after that county cup tie had finished 1-1.
In the quarter-finals of this season’s Roger Perry Junior Open Cup, Chiswick Celtic Reserves were knocked out by Heathrow Club, losing that tie 5-2. While Ivy Leaf WD progressed into the semi-finals of The Danny Sharma Premier Division Cup, with a 4-0 away win over Hounslow Wolves. Finally, Egham Stags booked their place in the final of this season’s John Andrews Division One Memorial Cup, where they’ll face Chiswick Celtic next month at Uxbridge FC, courtesy of a 4-1 win home win over Parkfield Sundays.
This Sunday, my highlighted league/cup fixture of the week is an interesting Division Two fixture between Brentford Town and Uxbridge Athletic.
