A preview of this season’s (2025/26) Middlesex County Football League The Alec Smith Premier Division Cup final, between Eagles Land Cricklewood and Camden United:

A highly competitive cup final awaits on late Saturday afternoon (kick-off is at 5:30pm at Uxbridge FC) as Eagles Land Cricklewood face Camden United in the final of the season 2025/26 The Alec Smith Premier Division Cup. Both club’s first ever time reaching this prestigious league cup final, both Eagles Land and Camden United, are having good seasons in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County League, but this is the biggest game of their seasons, without doubt. At the time of writing this preview, Eagles Land were in fifth place in the Premier Division standings, after 26 league matches played. Leon Louis’s Camden United side were one place above Eagles Land, on goal difference, in the league table.

Eagles Land entered this cup competition at the second round stage, along with Camden United. After a competitive 2-2 draw with Wood Lane in the second round at their Vaie Farm home ground, Eagles Land progressed into the quarter-finals on penalties. In the quarter-finals they travelled to east London, to face Jolof Sports. Winning that game 3-2, helped by a man of the match performance from their forward Kristo Beshiku, Eagles Land would have a tough tie away to London Fennecs, in the semi-finals. However, once again in east London, Eagles Land came out as winners, deservedly winning that cup tie 3-0 against one of the league’s most consistent teams this season.

Camden United’s run to the final of the league cup, started in Acton, when they beat LBS Lions 4-1. Then in the quarter-finals, the north London side progressed on penalties, after a 1-1 draw away to Sporting Duet, before winning 3-1 at home to Stonewall in the semi-finals. Both very good footballing sides in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County League, Eagles Land and Camden United are likely to produce a really good and competitive cup final on Saturday. They have two good squads, and I’m predicting there to be a number of goals scored in this final. All the very best of luck to both sides!
