A preview of this season’s Middlesex FA Intermediate Cup final, between Winchmore Hill and Stonewall:

On Wednesday evening (the 8th of April), Winchmore Hill and Stonewall will compete to be this season’s (2025/26) Middlesex FA Intermediate Cup winners, at Bedfont Sports FC. Southern Amateur Football League side Winchmore Hill entered this prestigious cup competition at the very first round, beating OIR 6-2 at home, back in September of 2025. The very well established SAL club, who are currently in second place in Senior Division 3 of the SAL, would be awarded the win in round two, after drawing LBS Lions. Later on in this county cup, and Winchmore Hill would then beat Feltham FC, Celtic (1995), and then another Middlesex County League side, in Harrow United, respectively, in the semi-finals of the competition, to make the final.

Eric Najib’s Stonewall side, who are currently in ninth place in the Middlesex County Football League Premier Division standings, entered this competition in round two. They won 3-1 against AFC Southall in round two, before then beating Totteridge & Whetstone 6-0 in the next round. A 5-2 away win over Brent United followed, in the quarter-finals. However, after a 1-1 draw in the semi-finals against Harrow Bhoys, Stonewall reached the final of this competition, courtesy of winning that tie on penalties. This will be Stonewall’s first ever county cup final, and on what will be a very big day for the club, I am expecting a very competitive final.

As Middlesex County Football League press officer, I will be attending this final to cover the game on my blog, with Stonewall playing their football in that league. I’m really looking forward to the final on Wednesday, and it’s a county cup final between two fine and well respected sides in their respective leagues/divisions. I would like to wish both Winchmore Hill and Stonewall all the very best of luck for the game.
