A post-match interview with FC Baresi player Kishawn James, following Baresi’s 2-0 away league win over Lymore Gardens on Friday:

Kishawn James (he now has six goals and eight assists for his team, during this season) scored both goals for FC Baresi on Friday evening, as they beat Lymore Gardens 2-0 (away) in a Thurlow Nunn League First Division South fixture, in what was an important win for a Baresi team who did really well as a team, against Lymore. After the game Kishawn kindly agreed to do a post-match interview with me.

Could you talk me through a bit about your background in football, prior to joining FC Baresi?

Kishawn: I moved here around five years ago, from Saint Lucia. I joined Frenford A, as they were known then, in the third or fourth division of the Essex Alliance Football League. It took me about two seasons to get into their step 7 Senior Division team, but once I got there I hit the ground running. I scored around 25 goals for the Frenford Development team during that season, and then FC Baresi came looking for me, and so I moved on to them.

How have you found being at FC Baresi so far, since joining them in the summer of 2024?

Kishawn: I’ve had different roles in the team, during both seasons that I’ve been here. Last season I played as a striker, but this season I’m playing as a winger, so it’s just about adapting to the different position, and also trying to give the gaffer what he wants from me on the pitch, and from out on both flanks as a winger.

What are some of your thoughts on today’s game with Lymore Gardens?

Kishawn: It was a tough game, as they’re a good team on the ball, but we defended well. And we stayed compact and we stuck to our game-plan. When the chances came we put them away.

Finally, what are some of your hopes and aims for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, with FC Baresi?

Kishawn: I want to get to double digits for both goals and assists during the rest of this season. In 2026 I’ve got three goals already, but I’m just really pushing to get more goals and assists, which is my one of my biggest aims at the moment, to help the team.
