Tomasz Siemienczuk came off the bench to score the winning goal of last Saturday’s The Alec Smith Premier Division Cup final, for Camden United. A highly competitive cup final which Camden United won 1-0 in, against Eagles Land Cricklewood, I caught up with Tomasz for a short post-match interview, after the game.
Could you talk me through a bit about your background in football?
Tomasz: I’m 28 now, but back when I was 18 I was playing at Maidenhead United. I then went to university, alongside some of my mates (at University of East Anglia) who actually played today, for Camden United. Since finishing university, I played for Hanwell Town for over a year, Dereham Town, Ashford Town, Leverstock Green, and then for my last two years I was at North Greenford United.
How have you found playing for Camden United during the 2025/26 season?
Tomasz: I was actually going to stop playing football this season, because I’ve been doing a lot of travelling. But, I’ve been lucky enough to have a manager like Leon, who has allowed me to still play for Camden United, alongside a number of my good mates who I’ve known for years, as well.
What did you make of today’s cup final?
Tomasz: It was always going to be a tough game, as Eagles Land are a very physical team, who aren’t easy to play against. But, I don’t think that their game plan really worked against us on the day, because we setup so well on the day ourselves. Leon had really been telling us to play well and press well, and really preparing us for the final. So Leon deserves a lot of credit, and on the day the team did really well. I was fortunate enough to be able to take the penalty late on in the game. And I was never missing!
