My preview of Wednesday’s Corinthian Cup final, between AC Milano and East London Ballers Reserves:

AC Milano and East London Ballers Reserves will face each other on Wednesday evening (kick-off is at 7:45pm) at Dagenham & Redbridge FC, in the final of the very prestigious Essex Sunday Corinthian Football League’s Corinthian Cup. AC Milano play their football in the Senior Division of this Sunday football league, with East London Ballers Reserves finishing their season in Division Two, as well deserved champions of that division.

AC Milano are currently the league leaders of the Senior Division, and they were last seasons’ runners-up in the Corinthian Cup, which they lost to East London Ballers’ first team. AC Milano are a quality side, who are having a really good season, with this not being their only cup final of their season. They would enter the Corinthian Cup at the third round stage, where they beat Hatch Lane (away) 5-1. In the quarter-finals of the competition, they would win 3-1 (at home) against FC Galaxy, which set up a semi-final tie with Yeni Bogazici, which they won 2-1.

A talented and youthful East London Ballers Reserves side would enter this competition in the second round, where they beat a team from a higher division than them (3-1) in Upshire Forest, away. Then in the third round, their away tie against Baiteze Squad was awarded to them, which would set up a home quarter-final tie with St Augustines, which East London Ballers Reserves won 5-3. And in the semi-finals, a spectacular goal from Ronaldo Naddah would see the East London Ballers Reserves win 1-0 against the East London Ballers first team, at Parsloes Park Hub.

This will be a very proud occasion for both sides, and for the East London Ballers Reserves they know that this will be a very difficult game against a very good Senior Division side, but it’s been a very proud season for them, and one of great progress. But, they’ll believe as a team and as a squad, that they have the quality to make this a cup final to remember. I would like to wish AC Milano and East London Ballers Reserves all the very best of luck for the cup final on Wednesday, and I think that it will be a very good and competitive game of football, which I’m looking forward to covering on my blog.
