The 2025/26 Middlesex County Football League (Sundays) Premier Division season was one in which was won by Club Assyria, for a second season in a row. Middlesex FA county cup finalists during the same season, Club Assyria finished in first place in this famous old Sunday league’s Premier Division, with 47 points after 18 league matches played. A quality side, Club Assyria would seal the title in style with a dramatic 4-3 win over Ivy Leaf WD, last month, in what was their penultimate game of the season. They also only lost one game throughout the league season. The Premier Division and Club Assyria’s top goalscorer, Bilal Butt, scored an impressive total of 28 league goals from 16 appearances, during the season just gone.
The league’s runners-up, a fine Hayes End Athletic side, would end the season with 39 points in this ten team division. And they were followed by good sides in Venceremos and then Ivy Leaf WD, in the Premier Division table. In fifth place in the table, were this seasons’ impressive Greg Ward Senior Open Cup winners, CB Hounslow & Abbots Sundays, who won a brilliant and dramatic final over One Brotherhood FC, 6-4, back in April, at Uxbridge FC.
In sixth place in the league table were Whitton Wanderers, who were then followed by One Brotherhood. All Nations, Hounslow Wolves, and then Grenfell Athletic, would make up the rest of the Premier Division, in order of where they finished the season in the table. Congratulations once again to a very good Club Assyria side, who I’m sure will be difficult to stop from winning the title for a third year in a row, next season. However, it will be interesting to see which teams join this competitive league next season, and who will be promoted from Division One.
