The 2026/27 Middlesex County Football League Premier Division season starts soon, on Saturday the 15th of August. As league press officer I will once again be covering a number of games across the league during the season, and the following is my preview of the Premier Division season. I would like to wish all teams the very best of luck for the upcoming Premier Division season.

Departing this step 7 league at the end of last season, were promoted champions London Fennecs, who are about to start their first season in the Thurlow Nunn League First Division South (step 6). Also departing the Premier Division at the end of last season, were PFC Victoria London Reserves and Jolof Sports, who have since moved across to the Suburban League and the Essex Alliance Football League respectively, and Hilltop Reserves, who were relegated to Division One. Joining the Premier Division ahead of the start of this season, are Hayes & Yeading United B, as well as three promoted teams from Division One, in unbeaten Division One East champions, Apollo London, Division One West champions Explorers, and Division One Central champions FH Whistlers.

Hayes & Hillingdon, last season’s Premier Division runners-up (by six points to London Fennecs), will I’m sure be challenging for the league title again this season, and for promotion to step 6. They have a really good group of players, and they also have the league’s top goalscorer from last season, in Liam Walford. With Hayes & Hillingdon having challenged for the title and really improved over the past couple of seasons in the Premier Division, they are undoubtedly a team to watch out for in season 2026/27. As are north London side Camden United, who are managed by Leon Louis. The league’s top goalscorers last time out, Camden United won the league cup and finished in third place in the Premier Division standings. They are a team to be respected once again this season.

Also, Sporting Duet (they will be looking to build on a fourth place finish in their debut Premier Division season), Larskpur Rovers, Kensington Dragons, Stonewall, Eagles Land Cricklewood and Camden & Islington United, in my opinion, can’t be ruled out of challenging for the league title, going off of recent seasons. Harrow United and Wood Lane are both youthful and talented sides, who will look to build on their respective tenth and 11th placed finishes last season, in what was their first in the Premier Division. LBS Lions, Kodak (Harrow), and Indian Gymkhana Club will all look to improve this season, in the league.

Then there are the four teams who join the league for the start of this season. Hayes & Yeading United B, whose first team play their football at step 4 of the non-League pyramid. I’m looking forward to seeing how their B team gets on this season in the Premier Division. Apollo London, Explorers and FH Whistlers, as promoted teams, will all add quality to this very good step 7 division. Another highly competitive league season awaits. And I cannot wait for it start!
