Non-League and Academy football writer

Following on from my preview of the 2026/27 Middlesex County Football League Division One East season, here is my preview of the Division One Central season, which starts next month. Current Premier Division side FH Whistlers won this step 8 division last season, after finishing four points above next best placed side Bessingby Park Rangers. Relegated to the division below at the end of last season, were London Tigers and London Athletic. Brentham, who have been going for such a long time, and who were a long-standing Middlesex County League side, would sadly recently fold.

I think that it’s fair to say that this season’s Division One Central is probably one of the strongest Middlesex County League divisions in a number of years. For a start, the teams who are joining this division, in county cup winners Hammersmith & Kensington Town and London Albion City, who are a very talented team, who as a club will be documenting their non-League footballing journey on social media, are both excellent sides. Then you have Hilltop Reserves, who were relegated to this division from the Premier Division at the end of the previous season.

Kodak (Harrow) Reserves were promoted from Division Two at the end of last season, along with RF Elite. With Edgware & Kingsbury Reserves having moved across from Division One East. A strong Bessingby Park Rangers side will be looking to go one better than last season by winning the title. You also have Harrow Bhoys FC, who are a well respected side in Division One for a number of years now. Sam Brown’s side certainly don’t make it easy for teams to play their football, and they also play their football to good effect. Premier Division side Harrow United have entered a second/reserve team into this division for this season. I’m sure that they will also add quality to the division.

Making up this 11 team division are Celtic (1995) and Brent United. Zak McCausland’s Brent United side have made a good start to pre-season, recording some good results so far, and I’m interested to see how they do in Division One Central this season. It’s going to be a fascinating season in Division One Central of the Middlesex County League, and I’m sure that there’ll be many twists and turns in this season’s title race.
