After losing their opening league game of the season 12-1 away to Ivy Leaf WD, One Brotherhood would play their first home game of the 2026/27 season, when they faced last season’s Middlesex County Football League Sundays Premier Division runners-up Hayes End Athletic, on Sunday morning. Played at Gunnersbury Park, Hayes End Athletic would win this game 3-1. The visiting team, Hayes End Athletic, would get off to a fantastic start in this game. After scoring the opening goal of the game so early on, with Tyrese Bailey having played the ball low across the floor from the left flank, to Karan Aulakh who was in space at the back post of the home team’s goal. From where the Hayes End player was allowed the time and space to finish high into the goal from close range, 0-1.
Soon after having taken the lead, Tyrese Bailey who had been very much involved in the game early on, would make it 2-0 to Hayes End Athletic. After the Hayes End number 10 had taken the ball inside from the right flank into the One Brotherhood box, before finishing powerfully into the goal, off goalkeeper Hanad Yuusuf at his near post, 0-2. Yusuf Khalaf’s One Brotherhood side would subsequently improve after a difficult start to this game, going on to create some good goalscoring chances. A good and well weighed first time through-ball pass from Zakariya Jama would find the run of Hamza Dahir down the left-hand side of the Hayes End penalty area. Hamza Dahir’s resulting effort was turned behind well by the feet of goalkeeper David Sayers. And then before half-time, a good move saw Salman Abdullahi pass the ball to Rayan Autban, who looped a good pass out to Hamza Miezou out on the right-hand side of the Hayes End box. His resulting volleyed effort would dip just over David Sayers’ goal.
After a closely contested and cagey start to the second half, it was One Brotherhood who went on to create the first real chance of the second half, soon after Amit Brar had a chance inside the centre of the home team’s box. For that chance for the home side, Hamza Dahir would play a forward pass into the path of Hamza Miezou, who took the ball forward in behind the Hayes End defence, into their penalty area. Where one versus one with David Sayers, his well hit low effort was well kept out by the feet of the goalkeeper. However, after an uneventful spell in a competitive game of Sunday league football, One Brotherhood did eventually manage to get a deserved goal. As Jabir Laraba’s through-ball pass had allowed the impressive Hamza Miezou to sprint forward with the ball in behind the away team’s defence, and into their penalty area. Where he was able to finish well off the underside of David Sayers’ crossbar and into the top right-hand corner of his goal, 1-2.
The game would definitely open up late on. But, after Hanad Yuusuf had made a really good stop to keep out a looping header on his goal following a cross from deep into his penalty area, Hayes End Athletic would make sure of the win in their first league game of this season. The One Brotherhood goalkeeper would play a short pass out from his penalty area which was met by the alert Tyrese Bailey, who passed the ball into the empty goal, 1-3. This was a good and competitive game of football, between two talented sides. Hayes End Athletic were the more clinical side yesterday, but it was a well contested game of football. Tyrese Bailey, with two goals and one assist was my overall player of the match, with Omar Ali being named as my player of the match for the home side.
