Focusing on east London for the weekend just gone, I thought that I’d write a short piece on three interesting results from non-League and grassroots football, from the many games which took place over the weekend.
Lymore Gardens 0-2 FC Baresi:
In a big Thurlow Nunn League First Division South fixture taking place at Redbridge FC on Friday evening, it was Tufail Amjad’s FC Baresi side who put in a clinical and impressive all-round team performance, to become only the second team to beat Lymore at their home ground this season, as they won this game 2-0. Kishawn James scored both goals for FC Baresi, who defended ever so well against a very good Lymore team.
CSM London Under 23s 4-0 Prettygate Reserves:
CSM London Under 23s, of the Essex Alliance Football League Division Two, have been enjoying a fantastic season in both league and cup competitions, during 2025/26. CSM’s Under 23 side booked their place in the semi-finals of this season’s Essex Junior Trophy, with a 4-0 home win over Prettygate Reserves on Saturday afternoon, in east London. Still yet to concede a goal in that county cup competition this season, it would be fantastic to see CSM reach the final of that county cup competition.
East London Ballers 7-1 Barking & Dagenham Wanderers:
East London Ballers continue to excel this season, and their first team who are in the quarter-finals of the FA Sunday Cup, put in another very clinical performance to beat Barking & Dagenham Wanderers in the quarter-finals of this season’s West Essex Sunday Charity Cup, on Sunday (7-1). For East London Ballers, Steven Carvell, Qusay Mohammed (he scored a hat-trick) and Demitri (Kiyan) Davis-Thorpe were among the goals. I’m looking forward to attending the East London Ballers Reserves versus AFC Muswell Hill London London county cup tie in a couple of weeks time, before then going to watch East London Ballers versus Shire United, in the FA Sunday Cup, on the same day.
