On Sunday (kick-off is at 5:30pm), One Brotherhood FC and CB Hounslow & Abbots Sundays, will compete to be the winners of this seasons’ Greg Ward Senior Open Cup, in the cup final at Uxbridge FC’s Honeycroft ground. This league cup final is being contested between the fifth and sixth placed sides respectively in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Football Sunday League. The fifth placed side in the Premier Division, One Brotherhood, would win 9-0 against Chiswick Athletic in round one of the cup, before then being awarded the win against Hayes Town, in the second round. In the quarter-finals, this experienced Sunday side would win 2-1 at home to fellow Premier Division side Grenfell Athletic. And in the semi-finals they would beat Uxbridge Athletic 3-0, away.
CB Hounslow & Abbots Sundays were awarded the wins against Princes Park United and West Drayton, in rounds one and two of the cup, respectively. They would then beat a good Larkspur Rovers Sundays side, 5-2 in the quarter-finals, before then beating Hounslow Wolves (1-0), away in the semi-finals. I’m expecting this to be a very competitive and closely contested cup final, which I’m looking forward to covering on my blog. All the very best to both sides for the game.
