A preview of the 2025/26 Middlesex FA Sunday Premier Cup final:

After lifting the London Sunday Trophy last Friday evening, FC Trent Park of the Barnet Sunday Football League, will face Club Assyria, of the Middlesex County Football League (Sundays), on Sunday afternoon, in the final of this seasons’ Middlesex FA Sunday Premier Cup. Being played at Bedfont Sports Club, this promises to be a really interesting and competitive cup final, between two experienced and talented Sunday sides. FC Trent Park, who I only saw lift the Sunday Trophy at Wingate & Finchley FC during the previous week, really impressed me during their win over AC Milano Reserves, in the final of that London FA Cup.

FC Trent Park won 3-1 against Pantera FC, in the first round of this seasons’ prestigious Middlesex FA County cup competition, before then drawing 4-4 with CB Hounslow & Abbots Sundays, in the second round. However, the north London side would win on penalties, to progress into the next round, the quarter-finals. And in the quarter-finals they would face the Omonia Youth first team, also from the Barnet Sunday Football League, who they won 3-1 against (away). That would setup a semi-final tie with Broadfields United Sundays. A 1-1 draw after 90 minutes would then result in FC Trent Park winning 3-1 on penalties, to make their second county cup final of the season.

Club Assyria have a superb squad of players, and as Middlesex County Football League Press Officer, it is great to see them reach this county cup final. They also have the excellent and very consistent Bilal Butt playing for them this season, in what is proving to be a great season for the club. Club Assyria entered this competition in the second round, where they faced Bedfont Sundays, who they won 6-1 against. Then in the quarter-finals, they faced a very good FC Olympia side in north London. After drawing 2-2 against them in 90 minutes, they would progress to the semi-finals with a win on penalties. And in the semi-finals, they would beat North London Athletic on penalties, after drawing that game 1-1.

That takes us to this Sunday’s big cup final, and what a game this promises to be! And, I will be writing a match report on my blog, from the cup final on Sunday. All the very best of luck to both sides for the game.
