Anthony Murray-Bruce is a vastly experienced central-defender, who has played for clubs such as Sporting Bengal United, in non-League football. I recently did a short interview with Anthony.
Could you talk me through a bit about your background in football?
Anthony: I’ve been around for a long time now. I was at Sporting Bengal for the best part of ten years, before joining FC Baresi. I had a couple of spells at Sporting Bengal, who I really enjoyed my time at. In my younger days I was at Wingate & Finchley and Walthamstow, for a short spell. I just want to enjoy my football at FC Baresi now, and be successful at the club, as well.
What has been your standout moment in non-League football, so far?
Anthony: Probably winning back to back promotions with Sporting was a really good memory, but there have been a couple of really good moments. Including during my time at Wingate & Finchley, who I represented in the FA Youth Cup.
What are some of your hopes for this season with FC Baresi?
Anthony: I want us to start the season well. We’ve got quite a new team with a lot of players getting together, but as long as we can start strongly and keep up the fitness levels that we’ve shown in training, then after the first five or ten games we can assess where we are. For me, it’s just about playing consistently, getting to the know the players, and just about enjoying ourselves as well.
