Non-League and Academy football writer

With a capacity of around 2,500, Coles Park/CVS Van Hire Stadium, in Haringey north London, is a historic and impressive non-League ground. Home of recently promoted step 4 side Haringey Borough, the current Southern Football League Division One Central side, Haringey Borough Women’s team, and step 6 (Thurlow Nunn League First Division South) non-League side, NW London, Coles Park has been a home to many clubs over the years. Being a historic ground, Coles Park was first used by Wood Green Town during the 1930s, but in more recent years, and during the 1990s, in addition to Haringey Borough, former Spartan South Midlands Football League side, Islington St Mary’s, also played their home matches at the ground.

Islington St Mary’s, whose former players include Abebayo Akinfenwa, would sadly fold in 1999. Going into the 21st century, and Coles Park has been a home to current step 6 side Sport London e Benfica, during their time in the Spartan South Midlands Football League, Brimsdown (step 6), current step 4 side Hashtag United, and clubs such as current step 5 side, Hackney Wick. Also during the 21st century, former non-League clubs, Kentish Town FC, and New Salamis, also played their home matches at Coles Park. Although this isn’t a complete list of clubs to have called Coles Park their home ground, over the years (I would be interested to see a more complete list), I hope that supporters of non-League football found this short piece interesting.
