An interview with recent FC Baresi signing, Issac Da’Silva Zumbu:

Clinical forward Issac Da’Silva Zumbu is a recent signing for non-League side FC Baresi, of the Thurlow Nunn League First Division South. Ahead of the 2026/27 season starting, I did a short interview with Issac.

Could you talk me through a bit about your background in football, prior to joining FC Baresi this summer?

Issac: I actually haven’t played non-League football for too long. I’ve been in academy football, when I was at Norwich for a short spell, between 14 and 16. And then before that I was at Fulham. I was then at Godalming Town, Dorking Wanderers, and then at the end of last season I was at Hambledon FC, in non-League football.

What would be your standout moment in football, so far?

Issac: It would be when I got that green light to play for the Norwich academy. That was a standout moment. Also, getting a scholarship at Dorking Wanderers was another standout moment for me. I was at Dorking for two years.

What are some of your hopes for this season with FC Baresi?

Issac: Hopefully we can really challenge for the league title, and also win one of the cup competitions. Personally, I want to help my teammates by scoring goals for this club, getting assists, and hopefully just winning every game that we play.

How have you found your time at the club so far?

Issac: The club has been amazing, as well as the coaching staff and the players. We haven’t known each other for too long, but it’s like a family now, and I love being here.
