At Salisbury Hall Pitches on early Saturday afternoon, FC Baresi faced fellow step 6 side Lewisham Borough (Community), in what was FC Baresi’s fourth pre-season friendly of this summer. FC Baresi would go on to take an early lead. Following some excellent work and skill from Eduin Saul Cruz Aguilar, to progress the ball forward at pace, Mahmut Emirali would eventually get to the ball on the edge of the Lewisham box. The FC Baresi midfielder would then hit a good, low effort into the bottom left-hand corner of the goal, to give FC Baresi the lead.
Issac Zumbu would see his powerful effort on the Lewisham goal be well parried away by their goalkeeper, as FC Baresi continued to move the ball around the pitch well. Soon afterwards, and Issac Zumbu would double FC Baresi’s lead, before Lewisham Borough’s number ten came close to getting a goal back for the away side before half-time. After quite an uneventful start to the second half (Lewisham Borough had improved during the second half), both sides would go on to create some good goalscoring chances, with Lewisham going closer on a couple more occasions.
Lewisham Borough would get a goal back during the latter stages of the game, after their number seven had powered an effort (from the edge of the FC Baresi penalty area) high into the goal. But, Yannick Kamanan’s FC Baresi side would secure their third win of pre-season, by adding a late third goal. As Amir Abbani’s well weighted forward pass down the left, would find the run of inform striker Immanuel Soetan, who would skilfully finishing low into the goal from a tight angle, inside of the penalty area. A good 3-1 win against a good step 6 side, FC Baresi continue their impressive pre-season form. My player of the match today, was FC Baresi central-defender Abiodun Kamalu.
