A short summary of Camden United’s pre-season friendly match with Apollo London:

In a pre-season friendly match at Market Road Pitches on late Saturday afternoon, two Middlesex County Football League Premier Division sides, in Camden United and newly promoted side Apollo London, faced each other. Finishing in a 4-2 win for Camden United, it was the home side who took an early lead through their number nine, who finished from inside of the Apollo penalty area at the second time of asking, after meeting a lofted forward pass. However, Apollo London would soon draw level, following a good response from them. As their number six would score courtesy of a good and impressive, low whipped free-kick effort from around 25 yards out on goal.

Camden United’s number 13 restored their lead, with a powerful, high finish from 20 yards out. But Apollo wouldn’t let Camden United build on this, and after the Camden United goalkeeper had made a fine reflex save to keep out a powerful headed effort on his goal, Apollo would then make it 2-2. After their number 18 had calmly finished with a side-footed effort inside of the Camden box. Yet it was Camden United who would finish an eventful first half of football on a high, with their number 13 scoring another goal (this time from the penalty spot) to make it 3-2 before half-time.

Camden United would add a fourth goal to their tally relatively late on during this contest, to win the game 4-2. Camden United showed their quality to get the win, on this early pre-season friendly (the league season starts in mid August), but a creative Apollo London side also showed why they will do well in their debutant Premier Division season, from this game.
