In the Thurlow Nunn League First Division South (game-week two of the 2026/27 season) there were some very positive results for teams, in what was, for some, already their third fixture of the season. The following piece is a bit of a round-up of the weekend’s results, in this very competitive step 6 division.
Starting at Parsloes Park Hub in east London, where the visiting team, Southend Manor, recorded their first win of the season with a good 1-0 away win over Athletic Newham, for the club from Essex. Moving on to the Coggeshall Town versus Basildon Town match, and a single goal from Todd Hollocks would see last season’s play-off semi-finalists, Coggeshall Town, win that game 1-0. And, Dunmow Town responded positively after two straight defeats to open the season, with a 2-0 home win over Brimsdown, on Saturday.
Stansted would get all three points against recently promoted side East Thurrock Community, courtesy of a 2-0 away win. And at Wodson Park, FC Baresi came from behind to impressively win 5-2 at home to Rayleigh Town on Saturday afternoon. In what was Yannick Kamanan’s first win as FC Baresi manager, the home side’s goalscorers on Saturday were Eduin Saul Cruz Aguilar, Israel Kabengele (he scored two goals), Immanuel Soetan and Amir Abbani. At the Harlow Arena, London Harts United continued their great start to their first season at step 6, with a 4-0 win over London Fennecs. And you can read my match report from that game here: https://nonleagueandacademyfootballwriter.co.uk/2026/08/01/london-harts-united-fc-4-0-london-fennecs-fc-my-match-report-from-the-harlow-arena/
Goals from Daniel Atkinson, Kleinti Loufi and Joshua Adeojo made sure that it was a winning start to the season for AS London, as they beat a previously unbeaten Lymore Gardens side 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Aveley FC. Marcelona also got their first win of the season at the weekend, with a 2-0 home win over Enfield Borough. Marcelona’s goals on the day came from Kamarni Collington and Mohammed Yaqoob. My next game which I will be covering in this division will be the Basildon Town versus London Fennecs game, on Wednesday evening in Basildon.
