My final preview of the Middlesex County Football League step 8 divisions as league press officer (Division One), is on Division One West, ahead of the 2026/27 season starting next month, in that particular division. Departing Division One West at the end of last season, were Uxbridge Athletic and Hayes Town, who left the league. In addition, last season’s Division One West winners, Explorers, were promoted to the Premier Division, and Feltham FC have moved to the Jeff Nardin & Combination Division, for season 2026/27. 

I think that both AFC Southall and Barnes FC could be two of the sides who could really challenge for the Division One West title again this season, after their second and third place finishes last time out. On AFC Southall, they have made the divisional cup final during the last two seasons, winning it the season before last. Both fourth place Ickenham, and fifth place Ruislip Town, both had solid seasons in 2025/26. As did promoted side Townmead, who finished two places below Ruislip Town (one place below Wiseman West) in the table. However, they also won the divisional cup at Uxbridge FC, last season, in what was a great achievement for the club.

Joining Division One West ahead of this season, are the recently reformed East Sheen, who have had quite a bit of media attention recently, which is great to see. They are joined by CB Hounslow & Abbots Senior Reserves, Royal Athletic United (they will be playing their home games at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub), Hounslow Wolves, and a strong Ruislip Rangers side, who were moved across from Division One Central.
