Seven teams will compete for the prestigious Barnet Sunday League Premier Division title, during season 2026/27. Last season’s champions, a very good and experienced North London Athletic side, won the Premier Division with 31 points. One place and two points below them were legendary Sunday club Highgate Albion, who will be looking forward to going again in both league and cup competitions this season. Both North London Athletic and Highgate Albion are two sides who should be greatly respected in league and cup competitions this season, which starts on the second Sunday of September.

Mehmetcik Galatya finished last season in third place in the BSL Premier Division standings. They also finished as runner-up in the very well known London Sunday Challenge Cup final of 2025/26. Fellow BSL league club Olympia (the very well established club ended the season in fifth place, doing well in cup competitions) would win that final last season. The three other teams who are making up the Premier Division are Neapolis Twentyone, New Salamis, and Trabzonspor UK. New Salamis were promoted to the Premier Division from Division One. However, last season’s treble winning Division One champions, FC Trent Park, have since moved over to the Hertfordshire 1961 Sunday Football League.

On Trabzonspor UK, who rejoin Sunday league football for the start of this season, as they join the BSL. They are a talented team who I think will do really well in both league and cup competitions. It will be another interesting Premier Division season in this historic Sunday football league. I wish all of the teams the very best of luck for the season ahead. I’m hoping to make the Olympia versus Trabzonspor UK fixture on the opening day of the Premier Division season. That promises to be a fantastic game.
