The following three matches, all involving teams from the Middlesex County Football League are taking place within the London area this weekend.
Camden United versus Explorers FC:
Leon Louis’s inform Camden United side welcome recently promoted side Explorers FC to the New River Stadium tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon for a Middlesex County Football League Premier Division fixture. Camden United have won five of their first seven league fixtures of this season, and they are currently in second place in the league standings, with a game in hand over league leaders Harrow United. Explorers who are making the long trip to Tottenham tomorrow, have won one and lost three of their opening four Premier Division fixtures, following their promotion to step 7. This should be a good game for people to attend.
One Brotherhood versus Hayes End Athletic:
One Brotherhood will be looking to bounce back from their 12-1 opening league game of the season defeat to Ivy Leaf WD last Sunday, when they host Hayes End Athletic at Gunnersbury Park this Sunday morning. This is Hayes End Athletic’s first Premier Division game of the 2026/27 season, and they will be hoping to go one further than last season in the Premier Division after finishing as runners-up to Club Assyria. One Brotherhood are also a talented team who did have a sending off in that 12-1 defeat to Ivy Leaf WD during the previous weekend. This will be a competitive game this time out versus Hayes End Athletic though, and I’m hoping to cover the game on my blog on Sunday.
Hackney Wednesday versus Maida Villa:
This London Sunday Trophy first round tie between a strong Camden Sunday Football League side, in Hackney Wednesday, and talented Division Two Middlesex Sunday League side Maida Villa, takes place on the north Marsh at Hackney Marshes on Sunday. An intriguing county cup tie, this will be a great test for Maida Villa, who will be looking forward to trying to go on a good cup run this season. And I wish them well for this game.
